then why you on here complaining instead of helping them level in fates I mean they are your friends right?I already have my Atma, but thanks for your doubt and throwing words into my mouth.
No. There are actually players who are new to the game that are friends of mine, and that are in Free Company who share the same feeling as I do. It was their complaint that has brought me to mention this thread. So I'd suggest you to rethink about the purpose of this thread and read carefully about what I said before you simply accuse me of something.
Also, players like you are the very sole reasons that new players refuse to play this game because they can't have fun.
low lvl players that do not have a lvl 50 job should not be using FATES as a primary means of leveling anyways. they teach you virtually nothing about how to actually play your job or what your intended role in a group is. for example, my main is a scholar. a healer. in order for me to grind FATES efficiently and receive credit i have to cleric stance and spam blizzard 2(a THM cross class skill) in packs of mobs or cleric stance dot/energy drain bosses. if i heal anyone or anything i draw crap tons of aggro and end up having to kite more than kill and i dont get any credit. anyone else see something wrong with this picture? lowbie characters should be leveling up in dungeons or thru the story quests(if i recall correctly the xp from quests will take you pretty close to 50 anyways)
"the people for whom this content is intended and the meager exp and gil reward is relevant have no business participating; these are meant for nobody at any time, presumably"
So the argument is that low level players don't have a mount to reach FATEs in time? You can level through quests to the appropriate level and then do guildhests for seals, there's even a roulette for them now so there should be plenty of people doing them. So now you have a mount. Now the argument is that FATEs get murdered by "higher level" players. Everyone level syncs down so they're not that much higher really. Also, FATEs last longer and mobs have more HP if there's a lot of people doing them. Sure, some get done in really fast, but that's not an attribute to high level, just the number of people. It was like that at launch too, some FATEs would get murdered and especially melees suffered because of the number of ranged people. Sometimes it would be hard to get contribution and thus people formed parties.
To me it seems like FATEing is the same as it was around launch, a lot of people clustering through the fights really quick. While the FATE system might have its flaws, I don't think they're caused by Atma farming at all.
i bolded the important part of my post since people want to quote but not comprehend...
of course they should take advantage of FATES when they can, but they should not be out trying to keep up with the FATE grinders, instead they should focus on learning their job and completing the story quest. this will get them to 50 alot faster than trying to keep up with FATE parties when they are ill equipped for it (no mount, no useful crossclass skills, less gil for porting back to camps)
AGAIN, people do not seem to read or understand the comprehension to this discussion.
If you've finished quests, hunting logs, hests, and ran out of allowance and you are still gapped away from the next amount of level to do ANYTHING, then you end up doing FATEs because Duty Finder doesn't seem to be in favor since you have to wait for two to five hours. (Hey! If you are DPS, that's what happens!).
Also FATEs favor groups who did the most efforts than a single player being shoved in the FATE group on a half progression or last moment progression. There are BARELY low level FATE group on party finder. So my argument still remains in point. It is NOT easy as people say. Like "Oh sure you can do Hunting Logs, Quests, Leves, Hests and Duty Finder" - AGAIN, it's not that simple.
NO HIGH LEVELS should not hog all low level FATEs just to please themselves because they want their "Atmas".
they are low level based FATEs for a REASON.
I hate to break it to you, but healers cannot get gold from only healing. You have to at least cast one damage spell in order to get credit for the FATE at all. After that, you can heal if you're in a party, but in general it's better to DoT up everything in sight first before healing (not that healing is super necessary in most FATEs anyway). Tanks also have to damage a mob or two, but you can basically smack one and then hit Flash a couple times and your gold is in the bag.
Just to throw into perspective here.
Western Thanalan is one of the locations of the Atma. Considering any new Gladiator, Pugilist, or Thaumaturge starts in Ul'dah, if they want to do FATEs in Western Thanalan, they will never get to the lower level ones in time. For example, running between the Level 13 Bubbly Bernie, and the Level 9 Cactuar Jack FATEs, especially if they don't have a mount. Until Gladiators are 15, they can't run dungeons, so they are stuck with FATEs or leves. Also considering that back when we were new players, we farmed FATEs for seals too, to get our chocobo permit. So new players have to use separate leves for EXP and seals.
The only ones who can make anything out of it are people who are leveling second classes there (ie. they would already have a mount at that point of time). That's the main content of the OP - these low level FATEs which were not usually ever touched by players outside of its level range, are now being cleared out by high level players in chase of their Atma, at the expense of the newer players.
At this point people are asking "Why should new players do FATE when they can do other things?" is the WORST thing people ask. Elitists, I swear.
People -WILL- do FATEs , if they are new players since they are amused by world events. And if you tell new players to "back off, new players shouldn't do FATE and should do something else to do for their time", it's like saying "go away. You shouldn't have your own fun time to do something because we have to do it for our own advantage".
This is a game where EVERYONE is allowed to try something for a change. This isn't a game for 50s. No new players should deserve to be doing something different because of us veteran players hunting for stupid items.
Are people in this thread really arguing that low level fates aren't for low level players? I know ya'll feel some weird urge to defend everything SE does regardless of how horrible it actually is, but still, at some point it has to click that your arguments are insanely ridiculous.
