it incorporate doh dol and then heal, tank, dps total of 8 on the same party to achieve victory. People either leveled other classes to get the best crafting cross skills, or did gathering to help a group out or waited forever for their only 50 spot to open up in a PUG which meant chances of getting drop were more rare then people crying over the atma. Also, you had to protect certain spots and npc allies in the fight. I miss it.

That is good that you are in school, but why are people who have busy lives complaining that farming is too long and hard to complete? Video games should not revolve around other people's lives but rather what the company wants to achieve. Some like the grind, some don't, it is that simple. Personal lives shouldn't be put into the equation, it is not an effective argument. Sometimes I work all week and play at the end of it, and still I like grinding hard for the new stuff because it feels like a reward, like the high pvp level to achieve. I always played games and like when it is difficult to achieve something, even if there is some range every now and then. People don't need to farm the atma's they can wait and do many other things right now, or just do it when the rng is increased to a give away status like it will be in next few patches no doubt.

There are no solo skill challenges.

I would like to make two points to this.

    a) I do not agree with the way in which the Atma grind was implemented
    b) Don't necessarily understand the whining on the forums about it.

My reasons are simple, the way SE went about how to acquire Atma was, in my opinion, wrong. To do low level FATES at lvl 50 with a specific weapon equipped, a HUGE step in the wrong direction to tackle this sort of grind. People like a sense of accomplishment while doing something repetitive. When you farm mobs for mats, that's your accomplishment, but you can do that with your full arsenal of skills so it hides well in the grinding effort. When you are leveling up your XP until next level is your goal and when you reach it you gain a sense of accomplishment and continue.

Atma farming removes both of these key ingredients, you sync to level and lose skills, you don't get XP, you waste time. Pure and simple, there's no carrot on the stick you just pound away until an RNG lines up in your favour all the while looking at the wasted time you can't get back between atma's on your way to collecting 12.

Now for the whining about it, well guess what, NOBODY is holding a gun to your head forcing you to do it. If you don't want to, guess what? DON'T! I can't stress enough that something like this isn't really supposed to be a 1 day farm thing and you have your reward, it's meant to suck up your time, but it's thankfully not a necessity.

In closing though I do feel that the way SE went about it was in error. I think there would be plenty less complaining about farming Atma if people were less restricted on how they obtain it, not needing a Zenith equipped would be a huge factor in this. being able to then take another class not at 50 and level them up via fates with a chance at gaining an Atma would be a simple fix to a ludicrous idea it currently is. Ultimately SE dropped the ball when they brought this out and hopefully they will look into making the portion of the quest still grindy but with more of a reason to feel inclined to stick with it without getting bored.

I did homework. Made it go by alot faster.

I also did it in the morning before I went to work So that way it was just some type of mindless time waster before work and not something I can get wrapped up in.

Doing the end-game raids isn't fun either.

Sure elitist don't want you to have your cake and be able to eat it too.

Yet this is something you have to dedicate time and effort into if you want it. If not you wont get it. So it's obviously gonna be anything but fun. The moment they said it was meant to take time you should have realized. It will be stressful and it will take time to achieve.

Currently 3 jobs have it the easiest achieving this goal. The other 6 will have a harder time. If you're not up for the grind. If you feel it wont be fun. Then do something else. The animus weapon isn't best in slot and there will be other alternatives for better weapons or that of equivalent strength.

I fully agree with you Karny, only the line I quoted is something I think you missed a fact about.
If ATMA farming is not suposed to be a 1 day thing, how come some got their ATMAs in less than 24h?

This system is not "not supposed to be a 1 day farm thing", no, this is a unjust system.
It punishes the unlucky with wasted time and rewards the lucky with the wanted objective.

If the ATMA wasn't suposed to be a 1 day farm thing they could have left out the whole ATMA thing and just done the ANIMUS books not with Mythology but with Olidary points, due to the lock on points you can't advance as fast as with Mythologys.

No this system is just utterly unjust, you're either lucky or not and if you're the later there is no Hours of farm that will help you.

I really don't understand all the fuss. Only 2 of my 12 atmas took extended amounts of time to obtain. I mean, yeah, while I was doing those particular ones that felt like they took forever I was "hating life" but now that I have my atma weapon I love it and I'm glad I did it.

    Getting the Atmas themselves isn't even the real grind for your Atma Weapon. >_>;

Next you'll be whining about how you have to spend 1.5k seals on a book and complete the challenges in the books. Oh but that's too hard/time-consuming! /sarcasm

Atmas are optional weapons. You don't -have- to get them, you don't -have- to complete them.

I know some folks that are grinding out 1.5k seals a day to buy and complete a book each day. I think they are pretty hardcore, and I'm not personally going at it that fast though I did pretty much complete my first book in a two days of playing. Was easy enough to be honest. The real grind is just getting the 1.5k seals now that they have reduced Myth rates on dungeons.

There are some people who have been farming daily with barely half of what they need. People are upset because it is RANDOM.
I can see the anger. Think of it this way:
One person got carried to their zenith. They know nothing about their class, haven't done much. They are wearing CRAFTING gear.. you name it (Mr Scrub.)
You: You are doing end game raids, you hit your personal best in your class and are proud.

You and Mr Scrub are grinding atmas, and he gets all 12 in a couple days. You are still grinding...grinding and nothing. Suddenly, Mr Scrub is working towards an animus he probably doesn't even know how to use while you are still struggling to get your 5th atma.

That is the best way to explain why people are upset. It isn't because all the players who don't put effort are getting the luck, but just that there is no skill requirement

I do agree with the system being flawed, based on a RNG rather than accumulated person time. I think really it should base the points at which the Atma's drop on a sort of invisible threshold with the exp. While it may say 0 XP gained at 50 it could secretly keep tally for you and drop at specific XP intervals, that would be fair and less based on RNG.
