I'm betting that 90% of the people who advocate this horrible Atma system are people who already have their weapon unlocked. The people who complain are those who have been in the same zone for SIX HOURS and still not found a single atma. Yes. This happened.

It's undefendable. It's based entirely on luck, meaning some people might never actually get their atmas (or more realistically they'll get bored of trying), and it's not even as though you can level up another job while working on them so that the Fates themselves might actually be rewarding. No, you have to do it on a class using a Zenith weapon.

It's a shoddy implementation. It's not fun, it's not rewarding, it's not even progressive since there's no guarantee how long it will take you to get that next Atma. Maybe you're one of the masochistic types who loves doing the same fates 24 hours a day with no reward in sight, but do try not to bring us all to your level of idiocy. At least see it for what it is: A poorly thought out grind to artificially extend the lifespan of the game.

As for the doubtless brilliantly minded fools who just say "get an alternative weapon" I say this. These are your upgrades. Like it or not, the Zodiac weapons are upgradeable and ultimately will be customizable which means that whether you grind now or later, the grind is inevitable. Levi weapons are filler, nothing more and nothing less. Great if you don't own a Zodiac, but pointless for all but cosmetic purposes in the long haul. If you think you're being smart and 'avoiding the grind' by getting your lucky Levi drop, you obviously can't see very far ahead.
