How Do I Recover My Character

I started playing FFIV the day it came out, and then quit after the first month. I have been waiting for the PS4 version.

When I load up either version the character that I have been using is not available for use. Why? How can I get my character back in action? I was hoping to load up the PS3 version and upload my character, but it is not in available to transfer either. It keeps telling me that no character data has been uploaded, but I can't figure out where this is done.

When I log in to mog station or whatever it list my character under my account. Why can't I play with it on PS3 or PS4? - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/2381123/

I have spent way too much of my time trying to read forums or find support for this issue... Please help. Thanks.

Aha! I figured it out within 30 seconds of posting this. I did not know I needed to find the server my character was on and then login. I just did not think to go to the server/ data center first and locate the character. Confusing...
