    answer a couple of questions?

    I have a couple of questions about this game. First off I have A LOT of these crystals now is there anything i can do with them like attach them to weapons or combine them to make an expensive one to sell? My second question is regarding the element points. I'm a Rank 15 Archer, do i use these or am i just leveling up these elements for no reason? In the future am I allowed to use like fire arrows or ice arrows in which leveling these elements would relate to? And finally in all of your opinions would it be useful for me to learn the Carpenter craft (to make arrows and bows and such) and leatherworking craft (to make leather armor for myself) or should i not even bother since i can buy all of that stuff.

    Crystals are used with the 8 "of the Hand" classes for synthesis {or crafting} If you don't plan to ever play these classes then just list them for sale on your character's Bazaar, your retainer, or find other players offering to purchase them and sell to them directly.

    The elemental points from what I've come to understand effect only the harvest rate of crystals from their respective demographics while playing the 3 "of the Land" classes. Crystals are more frequent based on where you are in the world or from certain rank/types of nods, but with points in the elements you can increase the acquire rate, though I personally have never seen a huge difference, so I just raised them evenly.

    No, the elemental points at this time have no effect on fire or ice damage. {doubtful they ever will}

    Its really up to you if you want to craft or not, if its something you enjoy, but in honesty and as you just said, everything you could ever want is already available from other crafters, and gil is very easy to get. Its a just a matter of finding each piece you want, then saving up the gil if its really expensive and not cheaper on another retainer. Just takes a bit of time...

    Like Khalus said, crystals are used to craft. Every synthing recipe requires a certain number and certain types of crystals. If you plan to craft things, you'll want to hang onto some of them. However, you won't need them for local (crafting) leves. For those, they are supplied for you, so you don't need to use your own. However, if you're going to grind crafts, or you're going to make gear or whatever, you'll need to use your own crystals.

    As Khalus said, if you don't plan to use them, you can sell the ones you've got. The best place to sell them is the crystalliers ward. And the market wards that are most active are in Uldah.
    My second question is regarding the element points. I'm a Rank 15 Archer, do i use these or am i just leveling up these elements for no reason? In the future am I allowed to use like fire arrows or ice arrows in which leveling these elements would relate to?
    Khalus is wrong on this one. Your elemental attributes do a couple of things.

    First, like Khalus said, they impact the crystals you get from other sources. If you have more points allotted for fire, you'll get more fire crystals from mobs and/or gathering.

    Second, your elemental attributes do affect your elemental damage and resistance to elemental damage. If you put points into the wind element, you can do more damage on wind-based attacks. And it also increases your resistance to the opposing element. So if you put points into wind, it will increase your resistance to fire based attacks. Here's Eorzeapedia's wiki on the subject. (Note that you can click on the different elements down there below to see what elements are opposed.)
    And finally in all of your opinions would it be useful for me to learn the Carpenter craft (to make arrows and bows and such) and leatherworking craft (to make leather armor for myself) or should i not even bother since i can buy all of that stuff.
    Well, the easiest answer is that you should do whatever you think is fun. If you're going to mostly play Arc, it would certainly be helpful to raise your Carpentry. That way, you can make your own arrows, and you can also repair your own bows. Being able to repair your own gear is actually really helpful.

    You should be able to find arrows to buy pretty easily. But sometimes it can be difficult to find bows within your price range. And although it can be pretty easy to get someone to repair your gear -- just put it in your bazaar for repair, offer a couple thousand gil, and go stand near the repair NPC in Uldah -- it's most convenient if you can do the repairs yourself rather than relying on others to do it, or using the repair NPC, who can only repair it up to 75%.

    Welcome to the game, and have fun!
