Inventory space is fine people need to not be hoarders. If people want extra space (I think what we have now is plenty) then SE could Charge $9.99/Month for unlimited space...... No seriously though they could do like FFXI and add some quest like Gobbie Bag/or pay an NPC a one time fee to upgrade.

Somehow SE manages to be so special that they can't figure out how to implement additional storage space without it costing them an arm and a leg - even though pretty much every MMO out there can do this.

Or they saw they have a fanatically loyal fanbase and knew they could get them to pay unnecessary additional money even though technically it would barely cost SE anything.

I doubt we'll ever see additional inventory expansion in XIV without having to pay additional money for it - not with this precedent now set. It's ridiculous in a sub-based MMO, but too many people just roll over and let it happen.

Best part is, SE has a precedence set with FFXI:

Gobbie Bag Quests (no rl money needed)
Mog Satchel (Came with buying a security token)
Mog Sack (Speak to a moogle..free space..and it scaled with your current inventory, so more spaces you get with gobbie bag, more sack and satchel space you get.)
Mog Case (Logged in after update..free 80+ inventory increase.)
Porter Mog (Trade almost every rare/ex etc gear to the moogle, so essentially more space.)
Mog House ( Storage system granted additional 80ish spaces when you decorated it at the cost of some of your mog house slots.)

However people want SE to ignore what they did in FFXI.

Can a single character on XI store more than over 800 items (inclusive gears and weapons)?
