Free additional item storage?

I have no issue with the extra retainers in the Mog Station but shouldn't SE add some item slots to our characters and retainers for free once in awhile? It's not the players' fault that the item database getting larger every 3 months.

at least 20 slots should be added to our characters/retainers every major updates. make it a quest or whatever.

It was a joke. "PS3 Limitations" is the popular joke on the forum for whenever SE can't or won't add something (or haven't added it already).

Whether it's a funny joke or not, that is still up for debate.

As to the OP, I agree. If anything, I feel like we should have gotten a third retainer for free just so we'd have one for each city, and THEN pay for extra ones, but that's just me. A bit of extra space on the current retainers wouldn't have hurt, especially if it was a small amount like 20 slots. SE made sure to have things take up as many slots as possible, so it isn't like they'd be losing potential sales for extra retainers.

But what can you do, SE knows they can squeeze money out of people, so they go straight for it.

Yeah it's a long running joke since SE used "PS2 limitations" as an excuse back in the day when they wanted to say "no". Also, no MMO gives "free additional space" these days, usually you need to buy it or do some asinine questline for it. Though XI gave us 2 free inventory/storage systems recently:

Something that should have existed in FFXIV ARR from the get go, but as we know, XIV community hates anything and everything FFXI.

nha server stress limitiations. Item Storage is all server side. If FFXI is any example we want them to be prudent with storage expansion. In FFXI right now a large part of your loading time zoning into places is the game reloading your friggin inventory...

And how is that different then People paying for extra characters in XI just for storage. Either way, your paying for extra resources not in the original
scope of their resource management plan.
