New player looking for EU role playing server

Hey everyone,

Have been on the PS4 beta for the past few phases, but with character creation now sticking through to the final release in the latest beta phase, I was wondering what the best EU servers are for role playing.

Last time I checked Moogle is full up (which I've heard has a good RP community). Any other suggestions for a decent RP server if Moogle remains unavailable?

There isn't actually a true 'EU' server - the ones designated as 'EU' are actually situated in North America, in the same place as the NA servers (Montreal, Canada to be precise), although their server times might be set differently. In any event, Balmung is probably the main English-language RP server, because it's a Legacy server ('Legacy' servers are servers that are from the original '1.0' version of FFXIV), and hence it's community is well established.

Therefore Balmung is a good choice of server to aim for if you're into role-playing your character (I have a couple of alts on Balmung myself, although my main character is on Ridill, but I can attest to players on Balmung being very friendly and rp-focused).
