    DRG Jump

    Hey guys,

I`ve noticed that most of my drg ppl arent really using their jumps.
    Why arent they?

I thought jumps have a different cooldown timer and add to the overall dps. I tend to use my jump skills in between my combos.
But i barely see another drg use their jumps, so maybe i missed a point why it isnt really helpful to use them. Just wanna learn ^^

    cheers

Think you have it right there, different timer so weave in for more dps, and of course the spineshatter dive stuns, dragonfire dive big damage to multiple targets, and both can clear some distance to hit something far away which is cool.

yes that was my guess too.
im running alot of coil turns atm and other drgs never used their jumps in boss battles.
i dont know, maybe there is a big downside on using that skills that i haved seen yet.

    just curious about other opinions

Hi there . Idk about "pro" DRG's , but i myself using Jump & Spineshatter Dive in between combos , using Dragonfire Dive for Aoe , also Spineshatter Dive & Dragonfire Dive good to use for reach enemy or group of enemy fast (like Coil t4 etc) . Also Jump itself with Job ability's up doing good chunk of damage . There few situations i noticed is when prefroming "Jump" is not good : when Enemy doing special move (red indicator) or Aoe move , or Plume (like Titan) etc , because seems while Animation of "Jump" going - game thinks that player still stand in position , from where jump was actually performed D: .
Also not to forget "Elusive Jump" is good tool to fly over big toxic pools like CT

It's probably just that jump itself really doesn't add much in the way of damage, (I *think* it's a 2-5% overall increase when all jumps are kept on CD, but keeping them on CD all the time would probably be inefficient in the long run) and in fights like Titan ex it can very easily get you killed if not timed right. The risks of using it in those kind of fights outweigh the benefit of a tiny amount of extra damage, unless you're very comfortable with the bosses rotation and can easily tell when it's 'safe' to jump. Just my opinion anyway.

tbh if i have to focuse on movement in the battle i only use 2 rotations plus the attack from the side which gives me a buff.

but in battles where you only burst out dps in tend to use my jumps too (got them on a macro with the jump buff).
but even then other drgs dont use their jumps...dont know why. which is why i started this thread

I use my jumps-infact I use all my CDs a lot depending on battles. I weave in stuff like Leg Sweep, Power Surge + Jump, Spineshatter, etc in between my combos.

Only times I won't is when I need to save them for something. On battles that require the tank to stun, I refuse to use leg sweep/spineshatter dive to avoid them resisting stuns (unless the tank isn't stunning or is missing stuns, then I may try and see if I can use them to help - did it on Siren once for instance with lunatic voice). I save Spineshatter Dive for gap-closing in Garuda EX (Dragonfire Dive if and only if spiney plume is away from my target).

I also prioritize movement above using any of my combos/CDs so it's still not an issue in stuff like Titan. I get as much DPS as I can out while still moving to avoid plumes and such.

Yeah, any % boost in your DPS = Efficient, especially in DPS check phases in fights. This is what separates the good from the bad, timing is part of your "skillset".

DRGs who are not weaving their Jump skills into their combos are going to be doing significantly less DPS than one that is.

The only reasons you shouldn't use them are:
    A) You know an AoE is coming up, and don't want to be caught in the air.
    B) You need to refresh your DoTs/Heavy Thrust

Any DRG worth his salt should be using them.

Not that I'm the #1 DRG in the game, I'm not even close.
However, to maximize DPS (like you should be), you should be using your Jump skills.

The worst thing is seeing a lvl 50 DRG in i90 gear doing nothing but 1-2-3 (Full Thrust combo)

Because jumps aren't safe with a lot of mechanics. Especially when the game can be unforgiving for messing up once.

When it comes to boss fights it is best to consider using your "Jump"s as a punishing ability for when they mess up.
