The main reason XI had the summons it had was because they were in quite a few ff games. I would like to see some that werent in XI, but using the same will give it that ff feel it needs, however I would like some that were in maybe 1 or 2 games, Arc anyone? lolWe have seen (through cutscenes or trailers or in game dialogue) that ifrit, shiva, garuda, titan, bahamut, and leviathan are all present. Personally, id like to see someone who wasnt represented in XI. This game draws too much comparison to XI, the last thing i feel we need is the same 10 creatures.
Pheonix would be great see.

Yes, we need some more obscure ones. I'm not sure where the primals are named through for these. Just because a move by a monster is used with a summons's name doesn't means that the particular summon is their primal...We have seen (through cutscenes or trailers or in game dialogue) that ifrit, shiva, garuda, titan, bahamut, and leviathan are all present. Alexander was in XI you just couldn't summon him. Like Bahamut, he's a boss instead.
btw I'm perfectly happy seeing mainstream summons that have been redesigned (see FFXIV primal Ifrit). tbh I never really cared for the ones that were extremely forgettable and/or didn't make recurring appearances in the series (see Quezacotl, most FFX aeons, Doom Train, etc). I think it would be much more interesting to see some old favourites, with maybe a few new ones to spice it up.

Maybe you left the game before this happened, but you can summon Alexander in FFXI. A limited version anyway. He does his 2-hour then leaves.
Anyway, my personal favourite is Ultima. Not sure how they would make that work, though lol.

I like the idea of using the well known summons such as Leviathan, Ifrit, Titan, etc. as overarching "boss" primals, and using "Primal Avatars"(or underlings) that you may be able to summon, like Doomtrain, Eden, Bismark, Lakshmi, Pandemona, Hydra, and Phantom. After you gain a certain proficiency or rank/favor with an overarching "boss" Primal, you eventually get to summon him/her... Or something... I didn't think this one through very well...
Maybe they can add some from the Ivalice universe like Zalera, Adrammelech, Cuchulainn, or Mateus. Hell, they could introduce them as "Evil" counterparts to The Twelve Guardians.

I would go apeshit if they added a Centaur-like Eidolon under a Titan "tree" of familiars or a friggin' Kraken under Leviathan...
Even if it just meant giving ol' Ultros some steroids and a competent demeanor.![]()

Lol Mug, good fix. It gets me going to see a mistake like that over and over as well haha ^.^
I like where you were going with the "Primals" and "Primal Avatars" thing. That would add a huge arsenal to summoners and make gameplay interesting if each Primal and the lesser Avatars had few quirks about them that could hurt or help you in battle.I like the idea of using the well known summons such as Leviathan, Ifrit, Titan, etc. as overarching "boss" primals, and using "Primal Avatars"(or underlings) that you may be able to summon, like Doomtrain, Eden, Bismark, Lakshmi, Pandemona, Hydra, and Phantom. How about seeing some original Primal ideas? Let's see, since the summons are usually named after beings from mythology ... how about Hermes which has a special ability to cast a spell that makes party members in AoE walk/run faster? Like Chocobo Mazurka in FFXI.

XII actually played around with the Idea a bit, including Zeromus as a summon.Lol Mug, good fix. It gets me going to see a mistake like that over and over as well haha ^.^

This is a great idea though, it can keep primals as the stuff of large scale fighting, while providing boss summons to fight.
As far as primals are concerned. I'd like to see, Kujata, Quetzalcoatl, and Seraph. Maybe throw in a Weapon or two as the imperials' answer to them.
