Those are the only two games Alexander served a plot purpose. I think. I'm just guessing, I didn't play XI.

Serving a plot purpose doesn't dictate if they can be included. Out of all the current primals, only Bahamut has ever had a true impact on the story of a FF game. Alexander has appeared in many FF games, thus he is recognizable by fans, thus worth including.

Alexander was never a plot point in FF9, he was just there. I cannot speak for 11, and which every FFcrapteen(13) game he was in)

XIV community largely hates any concept from XI and other past FF games that isn't VI or VII being introduced in this game. In IX, he served a plot point of Alexandria literally being Alexander and when the time comes he's summoned (normally) which he did so to protect not only Eiko and Garnet, but most of Alexandria when bahamut attacked. In XI, his actual body is the Alzadaal Undersea Ruins, also known as 'Nyzul Isle' which comprised of multiple content including Salvage - His purpose is to bring about the age of judgment, ragnarok etc and Odin is pretty much his rival. So the story revolves around the empire trying to basically control Alexander which they didn't count on his spirit inhabiting their machine they created in his likeness.

It was mostly a poke at how this community usually goes into absolute rage if you bring up any FF that isn't VI or VII or that happens to be XI (which gave many summons actual lore and back stories.)

Odin the knight, Bahamut the dragon and Alexander the Castle. They have always been somekind of "fantasy trinity".

So yeah, i think most of us would love to se Alexander as an Elder Primal, but im thinking in damn, 10 years from now? When we have all of Eorzea and Othard as fully explorable continents, when we have a small portion of the new world discovered for us to go in search of help to finally take the fight to Garlemald and defeat an Ascian ruled empire with the help of the exiled Empires Legions and our epic ilvl999 judge gear made by Cid and Nero working together as we also have the help of the beast tribes and we defeated the massive thread of the voidsent and the dravian crusade.

Last Trial - Fortress Intolerance - Alexander UNCHAINED Mode.

We have a long way to go, too long in fact, i really doubt we are going to leave Eorzea one day which is sad beyond words.
