Killing a bad argument with actual definitions given by experts and logic? Well ain't that the darnedest thing.

Raids don't have to be large-scale.
Yoshi-P's relatively correct in this sense. You can raid a location with a specialized group, but those locations may or may not be dungeons. Special Forces do it all the time.
So the OP trying to be clever and failing is hilarious to me.
Just sayin'.

i remember a thread about someone raging about the miss usage of the word raid because 8 ppl is no a raid lol
whatever let them rage. ignorants.
people should use the internet more often for things other than games and porn.
BTW.
Ignorant
1 : lacking knowledge or information
2 : resulting from or showing a lack of knowledge
I would have thought the only thing that matters is how it is used in the game in question, not how it is used in other games. So if SE decide that 'all group attacks on things that may or may not be underground' are called raids then that is how we should refer to it even if the term has different meanings in other games.
As an example, a Lancer in XIV is a DD class but in Tera it is a tank, does that mean one game is wrong and the other right? I am sure there are lots of other examples.
A lancer is not defined by being a tank or dd. He uses a lance
I don't really care how SE calls their dungeons, but the majority of the mmo players uses this word as it is described in wikipedia. They should just invent new words instead of using already existing ones that already have a different meaning(in people's minds).
Not in Japan. And it doesn't really matter what the "majority of MMO players" use the word for. They can adapt to a different meaning for a different game.A lancer is not defined by being a tank or dd. He uses a lance

I vote to call them boobs instead of raids, because everyone like boobs.
-We are not talking about the japanese version here
-In what kind of country do you live where "majority" doesn't matter?
-It's not about adaption, it's about confusion
I don't think Yoshi-P cares about the Raid in term of "gaming", you know...
...
Ok, where's that "No Sh*t, Sherlock" joke?
-But we are talking about a translation of a Japanese letter, about a Japanese based game.
-America (well, I do)
-When someone aims a confusion spell at you, you're supposed to try to dodge it.
