Looking for advice to build my FC up

My FC used to be pretty booming back around launch, but died out really hard by 2.1 due various reasons, and caused me and my co-leader to decide to take a break for a bit from XIV. 2.2 is out, we came back and we're honestly loving it all over again, and looking revive our Rank 5 FC in this modern time of XIV.

So I was curious if there's any pointers, like the Do and Don't of trying to build and manage a FC.
    • What the proper way to advertise it? Is shouting ingame really acceptable?
    • How big is honestly too big? Used to be 40+ members in my FC, yet I see others with 100+ and wonder how that works out in such groups.
    • Is there really a place for a more casual FC at this point in the game? (IE - Leveling / dungeons, not so much T6+ Coil / EX content)

If there's extra bits I missed or others feel should be addressed, you're more than welcome to toss it in a reply and I'll greatly appreciate it.

Legacy Player and XI Vet, always willing to help those in need.
I am the Dork Knight, the tank you need for DF ques, but not the tank you deserve.

Well our FC is only 23 members at the moment and i myself would rather have a small one (no more then 40 members) as it feels more like we are friends and family.
Large companies tend to have a clique so to say were some members get ignored. Atm our fc is saving up for housing but afterwords will be running ex Primals and coil.
I will eventually get there but am in long term so no hurry to be the 1st to complete turn 6, etc.
I would say just post in the server specific section and perhaps on other forums as well. Shouting out to me seems like a bad way to get new members
    All the best of luck

You need to find friends. My current FC (of which I am not the leader) is a group of about..12-16 people that get along really well together. When we were recruiting, we did so by word of mouth in parties, not by shouting. Most players ignore shouts all together so we found that playing with people and extending an invite to them worked out better. I would advise against a large FC unless it's so large that everyone is able to experience endgame content, if they want to (i.e. with 40 players you could have 5 teams running coil w/o people feeling left out).
