How long does the new character restriction last?

Bought the game and was gonna play with my friends on the Excalibur server. Now i can't make a character on it which is wasting my free month...how is this acceptable? I'm not joining another server as i would like to play on the same server as my friends. I really hope i can get on sooner or later cause i feel ripped off right now.

I'm not using your character name as hopefully you will likely be creating a new one soon on Excalibur
There is a large influx of new players due to the PS4 beta which is causing the lockdowns on character creation. I noticed your post is from 12:49 PST today, which is unfortunately prime time for NA. The best times to try to get on the servers is when they are less busy. I am assuming you are in a NA time zone, so either staying up late or getting on early is probably your best bet. If the server you want is blocked you can log out and try again in 30 minutes.
The congestion should get better on Monday also.

I just have bad timing i guess with the PS4 Beta. I will keep trying late / early i guess. Worst case i can wait till monday. Would love on now Just is a downer.

So the idea is that a forum post is made a few times a day to explicitly show which servers have character creation restrictions, but the restrictions themselves are more fluid, based around current server loads? I have been trying to make a character on Gilgamesh and it has never shown up as having restrictions in the forum posts, and yet it has been greyed out on the server select part of the character creation screen every time I try.

It's a little frustrating, I wish I had checked a little earlier in the day...

Tried staying up till 6AM EST. Every server was available but mine. Fantastic. This is really making me question things. Monday should be better. Cause if not i really don't know what i am gonna do.
