Playing since launch, I learned only a month ago how to use pet in Obey/Guard mode and no longer on Sic. Makes healing with fairy soooo much easier...

I didn't know how to limitbreak until about a week ago. As a WHM I never had to use it and when it was needed someone else, like a bard, did it. I finally got to use it just recently. I was so excited. xD

Makes you feel really powerful.

On a similar note, just a few weeks ago I discovered what the Bard's limitbreak was...

A few months in I learned from a friend that if I looked beyond the blur of icons on the party list, there secretly lie numbers to tell you how far down the threat list you are.

When I was leveling ALC, I ended up buying tons of Cinnabar from the city Tradeskill Merchant in order to convert it into Quicksilver, for use with level-equivalent recipes. Sometime well after I had reached ALC50, I scrolled down the vendor list a little bit more and saw that he sells Quicksilver too, at practically the same price.

I tried to convince myself that "at least I always had HQ Quicksilver" in order to lessen the pain a bit. ^^;

It happened something similar to me for about 2 months. I'm legacy, but I started ARR as Arcanist, so I customized my hotbars sizing (msp?) down my pet hotbar and placing it where hotbar #3 use to be for main job (BLM). I ran CM countless times as BLM telling people I didn't know what was going on with cannons refusing to work. One day, suddenly I found the issue: my hotbar #3 was actually covering the new hotbar with the cannon shot... I moved hotbar #3 and there it was the new button... It had been there all the time. A glorious day, indeed

I was level 50 for a month running around with Garuda and kept seeing people saying to use Enkindle, realised I had to unlock it through a quest that I had missed/ignored

Took me a couple months before I realized I could manually sort party members. Healing 8 mans became so much easier. Although now they have auto party sort....

H-how? It's a nightmare having one tank on F4 and the other on F7.

I didn't know you could sort a part list until a week ago.

It would have made healing so much easier for Titan fights, lol!

(As a result of not knowing, I got to improve greatly the disposition of my HUD though.)

I didn't know about the mouse over placeholder for macro ("<mo>") until very recently.

This thing is such a charm to use in combination with middle mouse clicks!

LOL I decided I want to make a macro using my limitbreak "Rise! Rise my lovelies!<3"
