I didn't know there was a buyers tax when you buy something from a retainer in another city!
I only figured it out when I went to buy a one million gil item, and the total came to 1,100,000.

Lol. Me too. But I used my phone to take a screenshot of the list. And there it was in the timers tab the whole time.Every day I used to go to the Grand Company HQ or a GC levemete to check what supplies/provisions they wanted for the day and write it in notepad so I didn't forget. Then I discovered that you can go into Timers and click the supplies/provision timer to get a list of what they currently want.
I did this at first. Didn't last too long fortunately because I complained and got set straight. Embarrassing, but worth the saved paperwork.
It took me about 2 months to realize that the big aetheryte in the cities could also teleport you around. I always hated having to run to the smaller one x.x. I felt really stupid when my gf told me about it after just a short amount of time playing.
lol there are a few things I didn't realize but must have been mentioned... such as moving people around so the tanks are on top to heal in a party. The Timers window. Being able to see prices of an item and it's sell history from your retainer... XD
Oh and never realized Brayflox Alltalks was a girl. XD
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
That's relatively new by the way. I think it was patch 2.16
We still call it Bluefrog. But we also use Moar Dhonuts.
When you have a mob targeted there are tiny bars left of the party player names showing who has aggro and the relative amounts of aggro for the rest of the party.
... this one I did not know. /facepalmI thought it was really cool that when turning in items for quests/leves/beastman/grand company. you dont have to search your inventory for the item. all you have to do is right click on the shaded item, that is showing what is being requests and pop the item comes up and you click it. Submit.
My favorites from our FC are someone who didn't realize that gil from mb sales goes straight to the retainer and people not realizing the FC page shows you where people are and when they were last logged in.
Upon returning to the game at the start of 2.0, I was eager to customize my retainers much so that I wanted to clean out and toss any old junk that I had... the first thing was about 20 or so Cracked Materia (ranging from I to IV) only to find out some weeks later that I could've turned said materia into whichever I wanted and could've made millions off of...
Just discarded them all... checked the box to accept and everything... it still wounds me.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?
For some inexplicable reason, I seem to only have this problem with the one in Ul'dah. I don't have any trouble recognizing that the big Atherytes in Gridania or Limsa Lominsa are also part of those cities' Aethernets, but I keep porting into Ul'dah at its main Atheryte and then running off towards one of the little Aethernet Shards in order to port to other parts of the city. I usually get about halfway to the Adventurer's Guild before realizing "geez, this is stupid."
