I agree with the coil lock out, but not so much the primal ones.You aren't alone on the atma grinding, though honestly I'm more annoyed with the locking out of Turn 6+ in coil if someone hasn't completed turn 5, much like how they did the same thing last patch with the primal fights. I've cleared every primal EX from 2.1 and there is no practical reason why someone needs to wait on Garuda to go fight Titan or Ifrit, and the problem is going to get worse now that they've thrown in Leviathan and King Moogle Mog extremes, requiring people to have cleared ifrit just to try them out.
If players are at end game and geared enough, just let the players do what they want to do, with who they want to do it with. Why is this such a hard thing to understand?!

Some attunement and progression road blocks give you a sense of accomplishment IMO.
