I did not say it was difficult. But my friends and I put in the time and effort to do it.
Here's the thing I don't fully understand about all the QQ. People claim that it's sooo random and that people who are done are just lucky. I Put my time in 10 hours in west la noscea had me at wits end but here's the thing. If it's completely luck and I'm extremely lucky lets broaden the picture.
There are now 10/10 people in my fc that buckled down and made atma their goal that all have their weapons. Members that have family's and full time jobs so not a great deal more than your average player. I find it hard to believe that our fc went 10/10 and we were all extremely lucky within the first week, including the guy that spend 7 hours in the wrong zone (lmao).
The fix for the atma "problem" is to stfu and just do it. Your welcome all!
So what about the people who put in more hours than you and still don't have the items? SOL?
No. Just no. From a business point of view less people = less income for SE. The smaller of an income this game generates for SE the less of a priority it will be to them. We want it to be as big and successful as possible, not to turn into the next failed MMO. SWOTOR hit 1.8 Million players as well. Then the developers got to big for their britches and ... We all know how that ended up -_-.
The complaints about atma farming are silly. If you're that frustrated with it, farm Coil 2 for the Unidentified Tomes or the Turn 9 weapons. Farm Leviathan for his weapon. Those are comparable. Heck, in many cases, the animus weapons are not as good as the others anyway.
I put in 15 hours in Central Thanalan before I found my first atma. Was it frustrating? Maybe. But not because the game is bad for it. It's frustrating when your luck is on such a downswing like that. I stuck with it and, guess what, I got all 12 (plus two duplicates) within the next 8 hours of farming.
So, to anyone who is so fed up with farming atmas, stop farming atmas for a while. Go do something else for a while.
I tend to not buy into it. I farmed 50 hours translates to In. 48hr period I logged in sporadically and never got a drop cuz " I have a life". Reality, 4 hours actually farming.Watched it multiple times on my own server. And no, your not SOL your just not done. Guna still stick with my 10/10 in fc being complete in one week. We can't all be super lucky, most are just lazy.
So if you put in at least 3 days' work, got nothing, and gave up, that's lazy then?
you didnt farm for 3 days and get nothing... you farmed for a few hours within 3 days and got nothing. RNG happens bro, suck it up. rewind time and go 130+wins before seeing the weapon you wanted in 1.0 ifrit and come bitch at me about rng, and THAT one wasn't just me lol, or dare i say try to just level for christs sake in pre abysea FFXI. Atma is LULZ compared to anything SE has thrown at us in the past. dont like it? i hear WoW has a new expansion coming out.

Atma is for hikikomori
I don't think its strange(i've seen my fair share of people rage over this quest) that some spent 10 hours for full atma's and others do 40 hours for one stupid drop.
There is no challenge, nothing one can do (like getting better, learning the battles or w/e) This is pure randomness, some are lucky enough to get them within a day others will farm for weeks.
And thats why they are so mad. There is nothing one can do to get them faster.
Since OP thinks the world is lazy just because they finished in a relatively decent amount of time let quantify this a little differently.
Friend A: resubbed out of the blue, did 60 fates total has all 12 atma
Myself: did 476 fates to get 12
Friend B: going on 1800 fates (took the week off) is currently 3/12
That is a range of 20% (lucky) > 2% (expected) > 0.5%
The argument that the 1.0 drop system is mute because there was just as much backlash against that as well. The melds weren't as bad because we all knew, when the high end of the rng scale was coming since it was based off you birthday and deity
As I've said in another thread, I'm currently 0/12 on my Atmas. I'm not necessarily complaining about the drop rates needing to be increased, since I'm used to having absolutely abysmal luck in games, this is nothing new to me. I've logged 40 hours into this game since saturday, every minute of that time was spent fate grinding. Yes, I'm still 0/12, yes it absolutely sucks, I DO wish there were some more feasible way to at the very least INCREASE chances, I don't think increasing the drop rate is the answer though, although admittedly, I don't know WHAT a proper response would be. Personally, I don't want the Relic Atma(or animus at that) just "handed to me for having a pulse", and I don't think some of these other people do either. I enjoy that it's a task that will take a LOT of time, I respect that and embrace it. I do feel that the people that were more fortunate in their farming though are being a tad bit callous towards the less fortunate, which I don't agree with either. Both sides of this argument need to just stop. Yes there is "other content" they can get, but if they're like me, they enjoy their relic, they're attached to it, and I can't speak for others, but I personally feel I accomplished something in getting it, that's why I'm sticking to my guns now in doing this grind. To the people demanding that it be increased, I dunno what to tell you, I'm in the same boat as you, just don't let it discourage you, you WILL eventually get it and you will eventually have your reward. Rather than fight and argue and demean one another, how about we all just stay together as a community and show help one another? I still have faith that we're a GOOD community.
