Honestly, your server must be better than mine. I've seen single prisms on mine selling for $10k+. Unless, you want your gear to look like low-level starting gear, that equates to roughly $50,000 to glamour one set of gear.don't forget the 2k at the aesthetician to complete the Snow look ^^
all kidding aside, it really just sounds like your whining because glamour isn't free. 10k to glamour an entire set of gear really isn't that much. Crafters had NOTHING except Culinarians who made money off of food.
In essence, what you are saying is f*ck crafters, they deserve nothing.
Yep, it's those kinds of prices on my server that initiated this thread. It's ridiculous.

yesterday I glamoured my head, chest, arms, legs, and feet for 17k (roughly). 3 armorer prisms, 1 goldsmith, 1, weaver. all tier 2 and 1 tier 3. Thats roughly 3.5k per. the tier 5 were only 5.5k at the most (yesterday). A trip to the aesthetician for 2k. Effed it up there so another 2k.
21k total.
As another poster said, barter with friends, farm mats for players. Make friends with a crafter. There are ways to ease the burden. Take a break from whatever you are doing and farm gil (which is easy).
The cost in materials to make the glamours is literally exactly the same regardless of grade. On top of that, there is practically zero difficulty in making a glamour, you just need some low level 40-durability mats and a couple crystals, but absolutely nothing needs to be HQ'd and it does not take anything beyond hitting "1" to complete the synth instantly so a naked level 50 crafter can make any of them. Grab the mats, which cost all of 500gil per prism, and find someone with a sufficiently leveled DoH class (again, they don't need to be a fully geared 3star master omnicrafter), and have them make a set of 10 prisms for you. Tip them a couple thousand for the 30 seconds it took them and be on your way.

My only problem with the glamour system (aside from the convoluted way you even glamour... a vanity tab would have worked so much better but that's besides the point. I'm glad crafters are finally able to make something that sells decently at least) is, like Naunet said, the ridiculous restrictions placed upon it.
The entire system could have been done a lot better, but aside from the multitude of idiotic restrictions placed on it, I have no real problem with how it's done.

I think the biggest point to this whole argument is that this is an optional thing. You are complaining about something you do not remotely need to spend Gil on. SE has done a really good job of making sure that crafting is not needed for 95% of the games content. The only 3 areas it really comes to play in are the Relic quest, Housing and Vanity. Why do you begrudge the crafters for making money on something that you can simply live without? Economy is driven off demand, if you don't want it, don't buy in. Eventually the cost of prisms will drop to near production cost just like everything else on the market and you will be able to glamour just about any outfit for the Gil you make in 1 extreme roulette.

OP crafters aren't charging over the odds, they are just making a profit, it takes a lot of time and effort to farm all the materials.
Non crafters always forget that when crafters have to resort to buying materials it will increase prices, so just keep that in mind next time you are selling the treasure-map exclusive materials at the marketwards![]()
the most ive ever paid for a prism was 2k, I make more than that just doing what I do and completing the challange log in the process (2k for trying to catch a titanic sawfish? another 3k for running 3 df dungeons? thanks SE!)

As a DoW / DoM you have access upto 50k+ in profit a day from Roulettes and Dailies alone.
As a crafter I don't sell prisms on the Market Board. I mostly use my crafts and gathering for myself or FC/friends at no cost.
I make plenty of gil alone just doing Roulettes when capping tomes. It funds something far more expensive than Glamours, Melds and overmelding.
Perhaps you need to reevaluate your methods for earning gil. There is even the challenge log now.

Just wait for the product to go on sale. Eventually the prices will drop. You can't have new items at discounted prices unless you have friends who make these items.
