This has been sitting in my sketchbook for a few months. My alt character

Still unfinished, I need to get back to it, fix stuff (like certain proportions that look off >.<), and actually finish it (and finish a ton of other unfinished drawings that have been sitting for even longer than this one).

Seems like I do art wrong then..
I wonder how I managed to improve without trying to do so :/

This is how i am as well, i'll improve significantly for no specific reason. but then i'll also have times where i lapse.

The truth is that if you look at a lot of artwork, you subconsciously analyse it. This improves your understanding of the subject and you'll become better at it simply because you're a human being. An artist with an art block will still find they improve once they're out of their rut, because the brain continues to work on problems in the background.

If you enjoy drawing, it doesn't matter if you're a natural or not, you'll get better because we are a learning based species and improvement is our bread and butter.

There's some really good stuff in this thread.

Acquired some new PS brushes, so, of course, needed to play with them. Started this about a month ago...? Worked on it for about three to four hours and haven't touched it again, haha.

that's what guidelines are for. just make a few on your image with a light stroke.

Being unable to wink is just a small price to pay for only having to draw one eye!
