Let's talk about the Libra Eorzea App

So... what does it offer that the lodestone doesn't?

I understand it's an offline compilation of the item database, but I think it needs more.

I had a couple of ideas that I think would be good topics for discussion:

Maps. Why don't we have a map section? It would be pretty cool to have access to an offline map database too, could have NPC locations etc.

Ventures. We've recently got access to the retainer venture system. How cool would it be to access your retainers from the app, assigning them missions when you can't log into the game. I'm on my lunch break at work, my retainers have returned... if only I could use the app to check up on them.

Gear sets. We have access to all this gear, let us mock up gear sets to explore BiS from our inventory.

FC Chat. Would be good to be able to communicate with my FC even if I'm not logged in.

Retainers. Access the Market board (much like WoW's Armoury allows you to access the AH)

Chocobo (Wishful thinking). FF8, Chocobo's World. We all have our Chocobo companion, give us a minigame we can play on our phone to raise him!

Card Game..... we know something is coming. It would be nice to play it on our mobiles too.

These upgrades for the app needs to be in SE's plans for the future of the app. I've always felt underwhelmed by it because there is nothing to really see or do there. I don't have any ideas to add to yours right now, but i support the ones you've put up.

I'm game for any of the above, but I think it would be an absolute waste if they don't at least integrate the Retainer Venture portion.

You still would have to be logged in to buy the venture tokens, and perhaps keep then in the retainer's inventory.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. For example, not to long ago I was working on leveling up Carpenter. One of the recipes called for Crab Oil. I figured I'd look it up in Libra Eorzea to see if I could buy it anywhere. Nope, can't buy it from an NPC. Doesn't drop from enemies. What the app doesn't tell you is that it's an item made by Alchemists. It would be nice if it said that, then maybe linked to the Alchemist recipe so I could know what mats to gather for my Alchemist friend who will make them for me.

I think it'd be absolutely mind-blowing if we could log in and access our Personal housing (when it's released) too. Do a little crafting (maybe, this could break the game from a balancing perspective), decorate the place...

What i really loved about XI ZAM is the quest descriptions and every quest had a forum space dedicated to people discussing it.

What to wear, who to bring with and targets you should pay attention to.
Stuff like that would have been nice when doing for example one of the main storyline missions regarding Castrum.

Also it would be a great place to discuss the story events and characters related to the quest.
