Questions about PS4 version ?

Hello everyone ^ω^ I was thinking about getting a PS4 and FFXIV on the PS4, would you guys recommend it ?

I was wondering about the ability of using a keyboard and mouse on the PS4 version when using it does the game run the same way the PC version works (with menus/interface)

On the PS4 version how are the graphics are they the same as one high setting on PC or a bit lower? if there is lag is it bad. How well does the game run and feel on the PS4 ?

You can set the PS3 version to run the same way as a PC, so the Keyboard and mouse are possible. I'll continue to use a controller though since it feels more comfortable for me.

It depends on what PCs you've got access to. The PS3 is pretty frustrating in terms of performance and despite what was said before, you CANNOT play the game with a keyboard and mouse in the same way you do on the PC. However, it has been said that you can on the PS4 version.

The PS4 version runs better than the PS3, and the resolution improvement is a good step forward as well with full 1080 rather than 720. Loading times also seem to be significantly improved as well, though they aren't up to a good PC's standards as far as detail and speed.

I do not have intention of make sad the ps4 users or start a War.

A medium range pc will beat the ps4 version for a LOT, not even close.

The ps4 version is a big upgrade of ps3 version but a great downgrade if you have a pc similar to this

intel i5 3.3 ghz
Radeon 7850/ Nvidia GTX660
8 gb ram
SSD disk

This pcs can run the game between 45 - 90 FPS with sweet fx and x4 AA.

You can lock also 30 FPS on this rigs for add 8x AA and a lot of more effects via Sweet FX.

The effects SweetFX can provide are awesome and the ps4 ver will look outdated compared with this.

if you have decent rig, avoid ps4 ver and download sweet FX program.

Thank you for your answers on the graphics side of the game, how well does the game run on the controls side of the game, does the PS4/PS3 control work, since it's an mmo, or are you better of plugging the keyboard and mouse up to the PS4 to play the game ?

I personally like the controller a lot. It feels easier with movement. The only thing i sometimes have problems with is im a little bit slower targetting than with a mouse. Also, on the controller you have to cycle through your skill bars, which you dont have to do using a keyboard. If you get good at it though it doesn't make much of a difference.

I play with a controller and keyboard on PS3 and intend to continue that approach on PS4.

The interface is certainly different between the two versions (I have both, prefer PS3) - so there will be a learning curve where you will be below your regular skill level for a week or 2 if you switch. I really prefer the controller as I feel like I can move more responsively and I feel like I'm actually playing the game instead of simulating an experience via keyboard/mouse. That is very subjective though, I would expect, lol.

Maybe if your tv settings are not right. PS4 blows my pc away as far as detail goes. And to answer OP's question, you can totally use a keyboard and mouse to play it just as you would a PC. You can get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse or wireless one as well.

The people who are claiming that the PS4 is only comparable to a mid-range PC likely need to adjust their TV settings (I was playing with a 1080p 120hz LED TV and my game was looking comparable to the PS4 screenshots in that URL). There is a subtle difference between Max PC vs. PS4, but it's not something I'd notice without it being pointed out to me. They're virtually equivalent graphics-wise so go with whichever version is most comfortable for you to play.
