Philo mats need to go

Eh, Mr. NPC still takes it all.

The main reason for running these dungeons is Mythology/Soldiery and they drop such a substantial amount of gil that with my spending habbits crafting and gathering can be put as a secondary means of income mostly.
These mats are just nice extras.

I guess I'm the minority. I love seeing these items drop so I don't have to purchase them on the marketboard or with the grand company seals. =)

but most of the FFXIV 2.0 community is just hack and slash. The idiots don't have time or patience to craft and/or gather. Even the thought of selling drops on the markets is absurd. I'm sure they are also the people who undercut until everything becomes meaningless and unrewarding for legit players.

But in all honesty the market started up again and that stuff is selling again, so I welcome the drops. Don't mind them at all.

Did a Halatali HM the other day: 1st boss, cooking sherry. 2nd boss: cooking sherry x2. But some people think that's fine because of their GC "seal value" lol

Do you know what that stuff even sells for on the market board? 2 @#$%ING GIL. Less than it will sell to a vendor for. It's that useless of an item.

Items that have a net worth of 2500 seals > items that have a net worth of 805 seals.

That would be great if you could still buy darklight from an NPC. By your logic then, since the mats cost 2500 seals but sell on the market board for roughly the same in gil, then darklight gear is only worth 800g!

I think the new coil should have a chance to drop a handful of gold pieces instead of armor, because you can get equivalent gear from an NPC for only a few hundred tomes.

I've been running the new dungeons like crazy – over 25 times at this point – and I have yet to see more than a small handful of gear drops from boss chests, and have only seen a single body piece from a last boss. I can appreciate the rarity of the new gear, but seriously, I feel like I'm going crazy trying to get that Fistfighter's Jackcoat.

Mostly what sucks though is that the price of the tome mats has absolutely plummeted, so they're pretty much worthless on my server. I've been vendoring any I get from dungeons because they don't sell for any more than that on the marketboard.

Crafting mats are perfectly fine for the additional chests, but boss chests should just be gear. Or gear + a crafting mat. But not just crafting mats, that's just stupid.

Used to actually sell okay then, like the philo mats, NPCs sold it and everyone had such a surplus that it just became insulting clutter.

I had nothing but pot and coke drop the entire dungeon once. I think this game's trying to tell me something.

Agreed bosses should drop gear. Buying the crafting mats with GC seals should be enough without throwing them at players that may not even have any crafting classes.
