Allagan for i95. Weathered weapon for i100. The shield combo has critical on weapon and is poor for whom. Also the stats on the two differ on combo as shield is speed. And I view det and pie as best secondary stats for whm

I didnt mean saying "combo" as they have the same stats, I say combo as shield+wand, the only stats I care about are Vit, Mnd, and Pie. =)

Well, that's pretty simple then.

If all you care about is vit/mnd/pie, then wand+shield is 25/24/0+10/10/8=35/34/8
Allagan weapon is 35/34/22, so it's better by 14 piety and otherwise even. Wand+shield has other stats as well, but in general I don't like trading 12 spell speed and 14 piety for 28 crit.

For i100, wand+shield is 38/37/9, whereas weathered yagrush is 38/37/31. Yagrush also has Det instead of spellspeed/crit for the off spec. Relic animus is 38/37/0 (secondaries are det/ss). All 3 i100 weapons have acquisition issues, though - wand+shield takes TWO levi mirrors, yagrush requires a T7 drop (guaranteed, but you'll be fighting your group for it), and animus requires grinding hell.

Personally I want Yagrush and Animus, since Yagrush turns into a 110 and Animus is needed for the 2.3 relic chain. Still another 10k myth to go though...

To each their own. All secondary stats only show a difference when you have a full set of gear that has that particular stat. A full set of determination gear will boost your healing spells by a noticeable difference. Same can be said for Spell Speed, and Crit, even though crit is more RNG, you should hopefully be seeing more crits with a full set of crit gear.

There is currently nothing wrong with tailoring your gear around Pie. Given our current options this isn't a bad idea for a WHM at all. Most of the actual armor pieces do not have pie on them, so mixing and matching will be up to how much mana you feel comfortable with. Actually getting your own personal BiS (Best in Slot) will take months to acquire given the current loot system they've implemented with the new coil and weathered gear.


Back on topic though, I would personally prefer the Yagrush (upgraded). However, I am currently working on the Animus Weapon until we can get further progression in Coil. I currently have the ilvl 95 Weapon, and would rather not waste my time on trying to get the Leviathan Wand & Shield, and then try to get the item to upgrade them both. While the upgraded weapon would be a slight upgrade, my chances of actually getting both pieces, and then the pieces to upgrade them are very slim.

Except the gains from Spell Speed are 1) miniscule 2) can be completely negated by latency 3) not all that great at what you want for endgame especially (consistency, longevity). Crit is a huge consistency hit and (imo) runs counter to how WHM optimally plays. Det is the most consistent option that gives you longevity. Pie is alright but it has SS's scaling issues and generally speaking loses value as you learn fights (and therefore learn when you can hold back and get some ticks).
