This makes me miss 1.0. I didn't get to play for long but I remember enjoying it a lot. I also remember being one of the only people in my group of friends who enjoyed it.

I do miss some things of 1.0, there are good video's of the main cities from 1.0 on that popular video website that everyone knows.
I really miss the music in Gridania. . . infact all the 1.0 soundtrack.
It was much more, relaxing. I could quite happily just sit in LL with the sheepies listening to the sounds and watching the sky change colour![]()
ahh memories
I commend your effort with language!

Hmm, don't remember which ones I posted in the other 1.0 screenshot threads. But here are a few!
Before everyone hung out in Mor Dhona, they did so in Ul'dah. Also, the materia system was very different (read: better).
You probably recognise Rowena! This is before she got wealthy enough to set up her own camp and hire several people to work for her.
Unused airship landing in the middle of the Shroud (from Gridania's old opening movie?)
Aetherial gate in the Fogfens. See that level 81 Rainbow Basilisk in the background?
It's been said a million times by... everyone, but damn, I miss the old Coerthas.
Aaah... Coerthas...
More Coerthas... Camp Dragonhead. Imperial airships. Atomos. Dalamud. Yep, I think I captured all of the apocalyptic signs in this one!

When I played thru Main Scenario and it got to the Howling Eye, I intentionally put off fighting Garuda and just sat there for a very very long time because ahhhh beautiful Coerthas as I remembered it! I miss it so badly! (Including the music. Good grief what's there now is atrocious.) Anywho! I have a friend who took tons of screenshots of both Gridania and Coerthas. I'll ask if it's alright to link to them.

B-b-but, I love snowy places :'( yet I do think we need a place like old Coerthas too, maybe with snow/rain weather. I also sat in Howling Eye for a while! When I played thru Main Scenario and it got to the Howling Eye, I intentionally put off fighting Garuda and just sat there for a very very long time because ahhhh beautiful Coerthas as I remembered it! Only thing I mostly miss from 1.0 was the nice graphic textures, and just overall better graphics quality.

Unfortunately, all my screenshots from back then were on my laptop. So no max settings (medium-low actually) and also only 720 resolution. You can still easily see how much better the clothing textures in particular were. Say one thing about 1.0, it had good textures.

Barefoot surefoot lightfoot, I am the ghost in Harrenhal
The old Nanawa Mines was an open world dungeon. You had to refill your quiver with arrows, which were consumables.
The UI was very different. Also, notice the amount of TP. TP worked differently back then.
This was in Skull Valley iirc. The music there back then was incredible and I surely miss it.
Fight in a party against Coincounter. Same move set, was a tough fight back then. He talks about hate because back then, the only indication we had of emnity was the green bar next to the name. This fight was also infamous for having a hate reset. You may also notice the "you place arrows in your quiver" in the chat. I think we could only hold 10 at a time, so refilling was pretty much a part of the rotation. This was in a time when animation lock was a thing, so finding the opportunity to refill was a big part.

When all else fails, Heck the Bed.

Singing Shards, first time in Mor Dhona.
When events were more than just FATE's
Outside the entrance to Dzemael Darkhold
Dragonhead
When end-game boss fights were fun.

To be fair, the summer events were always like FATEs. Everyone can join, no party needed.
The only difference in the ARR summer event was the lack of /emote action. I think the 2013 event suffered because we didn't kill the bombs with emotes. I hope the next summer event is more like the old again.
