Tried Skys rotation out, works rather well @ 388 CP you only need one tricks of the trade for the last innovation, lowest % HQ i got was 74% that was with HQ Colbalt and Ferberite. So rather good, thank you for sharing!

I used rotation 1 to make terminus putty. I was really afraid to lose my materials, so I used all HT so I'd have a bunch of unspent CP just in case. I had 2 HTs miss, and I was only at like 20% when I finished
I realize thesse rotations are probably close to optimal, and my implementation was a bit off, and I had a little bad luck - but I think crafting rotations are becoming much more interactive and less macro-able.
Yea apparently even if you didnt hit any misses the highest quality you could have obtained with that rotation is aprox. 33%. I'm not sure how much quality the 2nd rotation would give you considering it can achieve a 9 stack IQ. Worth a try. How did you obtain the materials for the synth? Spend the 450 Myth or purchase from AH?
Ill have to check again tonight but im pretty sure you needed 388
Up to 100%, potentially. These are all 85%+ Terminus Putty synths with normal status Byregot's Blessing:

Here is a 100% Terminus Putty synth after a good status Byregot's Blessing:

I made all of these with a version of the second rotation using 9x 80% Hasty Touch and 2x 90% Piece by Piece. I also Reclaim aggressively; there's simply no way to consistently HQ Terminus Putty if you aren't willing to roll the dice and break your synthesis when it's not going well.
The additional touch is only part of the reason the Waste Not II rotations can produce numbers so much higher than the more conservative rotations. The other reason is that they give you (at most) a single opportunity to trade a good condition Hasty Touch for a normal condition Basic Touch. The quality in these pictures was 1900-2400 before Byregot's Blessing - that's due entirely to good/excellent touches. Tricks of the Trade is great at smoothing out the RNG involved in landing your touches, but foregoing all your opportunities for good condition touches also ensures middling returns.

I don't see anything wrong with this? 25 durability = 3 CS2, each CS2 hits for 70+ = 210 progress > 201 progress left.
oh ok i guess i was thinking wrong about the 5 durability (i rarely use waste not, but am thinking it is the way to go for the new recipes). i guess if you have 5 left and you do your last progress hit, it will be a success. for some reason i thought it would fail. makes sense because if you have 10 left and you're doing your last progress, it succeeds as well. forget i said anything regarding that. the thing is, i just don't get how people are 100% hqing terminus putty without rng involved. your hasty touch will fail, and you won't always get a good condition when you need it. i have a guy on my server who has a ton of them on market board, all hq, at least 15 of them at a time. either he knows how to do it, or he just buys a lot of latex and tries and tries to get hqs. even if you use waste not, you gotta rely on hasty touch, and if you only use basic touch, you only have enough stacks to get 30-40% quality. if you get lucky with like 8 hasty touches, then yeah its more towards 80%. but 100%? i don't see how its possible with our current gear and melds, and without any type of rng. i have no problems with other gear because i use mostly hq items and its easy, but even with items like saurian leather, using only one hq item, i can end up with only 80% sometimes due to rng, or if I'm really unlucky and fail like 5 hasty touches in a row, then even less quality.

It is RNG, but if you're smart about your rotations. you can skew it towards the high end frequently. 100% is particularly simple if you land most of your touches and get a Good or Excellent on Byregot's. If you're dying to get HQ (for whatever reason, you don't even need HQ for most of the 3 stars), then as Kakure said, Reclaim until you do.
