World of Warcraft uses chat bubbles and it's not a big deal at all. And it can be disabled, so where is the real problem?Because the chances of people spamming chat bubbles is undeniable. Ask anyone that played a Phantasy MMO, which did use a chat bubble system. Not even PSU's chat bubble system could stop the spam (if people chat the exact same line they'd all merge into one large chat bubble). When you have two dozen people flooding chat you can quickly become blind from all the chat bubbles blocking the screen.
They've already flat out rejected this request a couple times now. Additionally, OP, please be prepared to be crucified by people who hate chat bubbles but apparently have never heard of an options menu, which is what happened in the last thread suggesting this feature.
If the UI modding SDK allows us to anchor stuff to player player nameplates this would be super easy to implement as an add-on.
I've got so many little quality-of-life ideas for the game's UI, I just wish they'd release the damn thing already so I could play around with it. ;-;
