Core Elements to a good MMO.

This isn't a suggestion so much as my opinion on what makes a truely great MMO. I just need 4 basic things done really well.
    1. Fun Battles.
    2. Comradery.
    3. Epic Loot.
    4. Engauging Storylines.

I just ask the devs to take these core elements in mind at all times. When wanting to implement something, ask themselves is what they are trying to accomplish going to fit 1 or more of these core elements.

    1) fun battles
    2) other things to do besides fun battles that are also fun.

edit: OH and this one is very important

    3) goals that dont seem completely unobtainable to the new player.

No brainer. At least for everyone except the devs

Runescape had a lot of things right with their MMO. I liked it how in order to do quests you had to have mulitple skills as a requirement for most of the quests and there were many puzzles in the quests, and the main character talked and you get to choose what the main character says in a lot of the dialog with the NPCs. They still add like two quests a month, and they are enriched with story, new music, puzzles and cutscenes. And a interface to listen to the music of what you listened from previous area and cutscenes the player has encountered in the game.

A well designed setting. Zones that immerse the player.
