Error Script on License Agreement page

I recently did a factory-restore to my computer. I reinstalled the FFXIV client using URL http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ . I disabled my firewall and a couple other security settings, set the compatibility mode to Windows Vista and Windows Vista (service pack 2), and ran the program using administrative settings. Every time, when prompted to agree to the License Agreement, I receive the script error as follows:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 0
    Char: 0
Error: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
    Code: 0
    URL: http://frontier.ffxiv.com/arr_win/eula.html?lang=en

What is the solution to this problem?

Did you uninstall Internet Explorer when you did the factory reset? If so, please try to install it again.
Install all updates in Windows Update, especially those connected to Internet Explorer.

    Also, try this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260

    Hope that helps!

This is what worked. I half-joke I am barely computer literate, but it's more of a sad fact XD
Thank you for the assistance. I am downloading the updates from the launcher now.

    ISSUE RESOLVED.
