You only need 20 slots maximum in each category to hold everything you're going to wear. 5 DoW, 4 DoM, 8 DoH and 3 DoH. Many jobs share equipment, so it's possible to use far less than that.

If somebody with all jobs to 50 has armory chest problems, it's because they're hoarding things that they don't need to be carrying with them.

In the future when they add more jobs it can become an issue, but now? It's an issue of the player in question, not the armory chest.

You forget any vanity items you might want to lug around. Also, as I mentioned in the OP, I carry sets around with me for leveling DoH from 1-50 also. Thats practically a different set of gear every 5-10 levels.

You have retainers for a reason. Store some stuff in there.

If you think this is bad, you would NOT have survived 1.0, even up to 1.23.

I did survive 1.0 actually, but back then I only had 3 DoW and 1 DoM. I was there from 1.0 closed alpha all the way to Dalamud, so trust me, I know how bad it was back then XD. To comment on your post though, one of my retainers is almost completely full of gear. The other I use to stockpile materials for DoH I havn't leveled yet. Regardless of arguments, if there isn't a pressing need for an expansion now, there will be in the future.
