Hello FFXIVers!

I'm sure most of you keeners have noticed over the last few days, we've made some server improvements. Our servers now simulate 300% more lag spikes in order to provide all you hardcore players that classic MMO feeling.

And while this may take some time, we're currently looking into adding death penalties such as permanent weapon damage and deleveling, as well as monthly spawn FATEs. Please look forward to it!

In 2.3 to upgrade your relic we require you to run 1,000 fates that are under level 10! Even more importantly, we have tested and tuned the system to require that the repair costs of running the fate is more than the fate actually provides! Gil Sink so that less people will have rediculous amounts of Gil to spend on FC Housing! In 2.4 we're going to require everyone to go to an Aetherythe crystal and mash the spacebar until they get a TYME WYSTE token! the time waste token has a 1% chance of dropping every 24 hours and can only be claimed by 1 person at the Aetherythe! Please enjoy our dynamic open world content!

Hello again, to all of you Yoshi-Ps out there! Yoshi-P here, bringing you my umteenth-millionth Letter from the Producer.


First of all I would like to apologise for all the server lag you are experiancing in the Duty Finder since the update. One of the people working with the instance servers was running them so hot he thought it would be a good idea to cook toast on one. There is crumbs everywhere, and while I'm sure the crumbs will burn away eventually, the servers are physicly too hot for us to open at the moment. As apology, we are implementing a Toaster item to put in your Free Company House! If you put bread in it and click it exactly 14 times you have the chance of getting a piece of toast! (Please keep them away from hot tubs, as we will also put in a debuff should you submurge them in water, to encourage you to log out and make the servers run better.) Please look forward to it!

Also, in Patch 3.14, we are going to put in several new jobs and classes, including Red Mage! In keeping with our trend from Final Fantasys from before this, after launching the Red Mage we will promptly ignore it. Please look forward to that too!
