I would like to add from one of many previous postings that we are also going to being adding more event items. These event items will encompass other popular Final Fantasy titles that made this game possible.

With the recent release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, an event Fate will be added allowing you to battle the Final Boss of Final Fantasy 10. This event will give you a reward of a special item, that for the first time, you trade in for level 50 Gear and you must be lvl 49 to do this Fate. This will be the first useful event item in game and will not just be there for looks. Since the Fate is expected to be hard, the Fate will reward in Myth and Soldiery Tomes instead of gil.

Hello again, to all of you FFXIVers out there! It feels like yesterday since I've put my virtual ideas to paper, and I could bear going another day without delivering my fifty-sixth Letter from the Producer.

We hit the ground pretty hard running in April, sparing all effort to put the XIV in FFXIV, and we're preparing for launch all over again in Antarctica. I have had time to run the Binding Coil for two whole months now, and the full set of Allagan gear continues to clog my inventory.

But enough about me, let's talk about what's going on with FFXIV.
I've just about finished my final checks on patch 2.205, and the family is putting the finishing touches on the many new features being forced in with this update. As a matter of fact, I'd like to show you one of those new systems right now─Favour. By using a favour charm, you can steal the heart of NPCs, allowing you to freely flirt with your mate without affecting your reputation.



Unsuspecting Y'shtola has fallen for a vicious character. Their nights together are sure to be painful.



How did she manage to get there without anyone noticing?

Last but certainly not least, we'll be removing the ferry between Limsa Lominsa and Vesper Bay so that players can spend their teleportation tickets. This wouldn't be a FINAL FANTASY if you didn't have to use items in your possession, so expect to see new developments in that area too, and perhaps even the return of a certain restriction from Version 1.0. Please look forward to it.

More details will be revealed during the upcoming LIVE letters. I'm planning to host one next month right after Golden Week, and I hope you all tune in!

Producer/Director Yoshida here bringing you my MMXVIIXIVVVMIIth letter from the producer!

I know it's been a long wait but I was hard at work for the last 30 years and finally got my 12th Atma! But enough about me, it's time to get to what I'm sure all of you are anxiously waiting to hear; news on the future of FFXIV!

Well I'm happy to report that the recent improvements we've put in place in an effort to improve the game's economy have been successful and prices of most items seem to have stabilized around our target of 1gil. In the next update we plan to put in place a feature which automatically discards all items once placed on the marketboard, so please be excited!

In other news we've been recieving a lot of reports from players who still can't seem to zoom out far enough on titan hard mode and we're looking into whether or not we can implement a pop up dialogue to remind players to zoom out upon entering an instance. We feel that with this improvement, in addition to the new 300% echo buff, that this fight should finally be manageable for our canine players. We'll be keeping a close eye on the situation to ensure this doesn't effect game balance.

Finally, I'd like to touch a bit on the subject of server latency. We've been working round the clock to implement a new server structure which we feel will vastly improve the number of simultaneous connections. It's a bit technical so feel free to skip over this part. After our initial investigation we've discovered that one of our coders put a decimal point in the wrong place and the .1 second delay when checking player positioning was actually a 1 second delay. We corrected the issue and now you should be experiencing the proper delay of 1.0 seconds. We're very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your understanding.

Several dungeons in the duty finder will soon have 'open world' versions which can be freely accessed simply by crossing the zone line. What new adventures await?
For those who wish to play the original instanced dungeon format, you need only use the duty finder as usual or speak with the attendant outside the zone line.

Producer/Director Yoshida here, due to suggestions regarding the game's difficulty we will be adding a new super-mega-epic-elite-hardcore server. This server will have drop rates set at .01% for all items, even quest items. Vendor prices, housing prices, and market board taxes will also be increased by 2000%. Also to cater to the most hardcore of our players all monsters's special attacks will now one shot the players. If there is high enough demand for more difficulty we will consider adding in perma-death.

And as a special feature anyone on the forums who mention that the current game is too easy will have their characters automatically transferred to our new server for free.
