so after going thru some of the "atma drops sucks" threads and seeing some people use the "there is other ways to get gear" logic, it has come to my attention that the people are ignoring one major thing. the only 2.2 weapon(s)you can get are the new allagan wep if you are good enough, and the levi weapon. it will be a full month before any even sees people having a weathered weapon, because those are behind a double lockout (tome cap and coil drop). so no, there really isnt much choice in what weapons you can get.

So, to sum up. It will takes weeks of challenges, effort and grind to get either the relic 2.0, the Leviathan weapon, or the new allagan weapon. And what was the big thing that was overlooked?

You've just listed two.
And from what I've researched, progression goes:
Wave/Allagan>Atma/Wheathered/Tidal>Crafted/High Allagan.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you go Levi>HM Levi>High Allagan instead?

Only Extreme Leviathan drops weapon, and it's i95 (upgradeable to i100 with a rare drop from the same instance itself). HM Levi drops nothing except craft mats.

Even so, is it still a feasible alternative? And what of the weathered gear? From the looks of it, that one is obtained through the normal means of trading in tomestones from runs.

yes, you can. its the getting the gear needed to even be close to able to get high allagan that stops people.

Then what's the point in complaining about the Atma grind? The High Allagan is after all of that.

Looking it up, the Weathered Rosenbogen is obtained through 10 Rowena's Tokens (1300 Tomestones of Soldiery) and 1 Unidentified Allagan Tomestone which can be obtained from coil turn 7. Is it not possible to enter turn 7 with only i95 weapons, or is it a matter of drop rate?

the cost was known day one about the tokens. thats 3 weeks before anyone can get it. some want an ilvl100 with hard work and effort. levi ex mirror drop is rng, but because you are for sure getting something out of it(wep drops and tomes) it doesnt feel bad when it doesnt drop. you go 20+ hours with no atma in sight, its going to feel horrible. and you have almost nothing to show for it except seals.

How is it a "problem" that the people with more time to dedicate to the game (which means they are putting in more work) have more access to end game gear? If you put in the work you get the reward.

Just curious.. does anyone think the RNG is improved by being solo or being in a group for ATMA drops? I got one almost immediately in a group, haven't got once since in group or solo =p
