I just spent 3 hours this morning in Southern Thanalan and watched as my party of 8 slowly diminished down to 1 person (me) with everyone else getting an Atma.
I feel the pain.

I totally can, and do. If your "mind set" wasn't clicking with what was actually happening, you change your mindset. The only people who keep doing something even if they don't really like it are addicts. I will never understand this thinking. These weapons are not good as they are compared to every other new weapon. A simple FFXIVDB search would have cleared that up. Obviously, they weren't meant to be "farmed". Western Players just need everything NOW and get angry when they can't, even if there are better options.
I tried to take a more moderate approach. Sure I spent around 6-7 hours specifically in groups farming Atma's this weekend, but I also did a lot of other content. Between instance runs I'd be out in a zone killing fates. The sad thing. Even with a mix of farming and occasional fate kills I still got through the entire weekend without a single Atma drop. It's extremely disheartening to get through a weekend putting genuine effort into something and getting nothing out of it. This isn't delayed rewards. This feels like no rewards. You know what might make it feel better? If I wasn't doing level 4-12 fates the whole time. I'd have more abilities and I wouldn't get a paltry 35 or so GC seals from it. The entire exercise feels like a lesson in utterly wasting my time. If I at least got full seals and could use my abilities it might be a lot less terrible.

Post this on the Atma thread, we don't need 122934 threads of the same subject.

Don't the Fates scale difficulty depending on how many people were there the last time the Fate spawned? If you wait until the big rush is over, and Fates go back to where maybe one or two people do them, won't that actually make it easier to get gold? With everyone zerging Fates for Atmas, Coerthas is dead and I did a few Fates where there were four or less people, and got gold.

That would make it better if it worked out that way.Don't the Fates scale difficulty depending on how many people were there the last time the Fate spawned? You don't need gold to get atma
