So, after farming the entire weekend and only getting one stone, and seeing in the foruns everyone complaining about how lame the drop rate is, has Yoshi-P or SE said anything about it?

I don't really know what SE would need to do about it. I mean, yeah the drop rate sucks but that's the whole point of it -you want an atma weapon, now you have to work for it. Unlike most other things in this game that's pretty much handed to you this one will take quite some effort to get. If they increase the drop rate because everyone (who's used to getting everything they want quickly on a silver platter) are now complaining then what's the point in making the relic questline the most powerful weapon in the game?
If you really don't want to farm the atma stones -don't. Either get yourself a high allagan weapon or Leviathan EX weapon. No one is forcing anyone to farm the atma crystals (not stones btw). I almost forgot. There is also the weathered weapon questline too that requires tomes of soldiery and a few other items. That one is also a grindfest too.

i don't mind the grind, i mind the RNG. I mean, getting the atma weapon is no big deal, since it has the same stats as Zennith version. The part that is supposed to be hard is the tomes parts, you farm 1500 myth, and does the challenge. That is a good grind, you know when you start and you know when you finish. With the actual drop rates, the luckyer you are, the sooner you finish, and that's kinda of disapointing... I like the fates, and this kinda of quests makes the opportunity i was looking for to finish my fates achieviments... I don't know if you understand what I mean, the problem is not farming the entire weekend and getting one Atma Crystal, is farming the entire weekend and known that i could have all by now if god had liked me better, or odin liked me better, or whatever dinivity you pray for
you farm 13.5k myth and do the challenges
grinding for book 2 /sigh
FFXI magian trials all over again
I don't like the system, but I've come across a couple people who have already gotten their atma and are now grinding for books. So, if their goal was to make it take awhile to get your atma, making the process easier would just make it do that everyone was basically halfway done within a week of the patch.
I just hope they nerf it when 2.3 comes out. That'll be enough for me.
I don't want them to lower the drop rate. I want them to add some way to be guaranteed to get them after achieving a measurable goal, like complete 250 FATEs in the zone to get that zone's Atma, for instance. Or, complete each FATE that spawns in the zone, that actually sounds like an interesting activity, finding all the FATEs. Anyway, this goal shouldn't be an easy one, but there should be an end in sight. I don't mind spending weeks/months on a quest for a good upgrade, I just want to know that if I put in the time, I'll actually finish it. So far? 22ish hours, 0/12. It's demoralizing.
That's pure RNG at work. Some people got extremely lucky. I happen to be one who got extremely UNlucky, and it sucks. I really think they should have made it a guaranteed time sink for everyone, rather than only a time sink for the unlucky.

That is a good idea. I think they should have gave a second or third options like , 30k company seals then you can buy 1 atma and then there would be a timer of 24 hrs until you can buy another one that way. At least you can get the items, and not have some one that just started the game 2 weeks ago get all 12 them in a day. While you may have been playing for months, or playing for like 10 hr grinds a day and not even get one atma or get like 3 atma. Also keep the luck part. Can do 12 days no luck would be longest or Faster if get lucky and sure would get a few them while grinding to 30k company seals each day.

I don't mind a grind, but this grind is so utterly boring. At least grinds in games like xi were somewhat fun. Salvage, Nyzul, Dyna and such. But this is just a wasted time sink. 7 hrs with no atma drop. At least most other grinds you can count drops or kills and at least feel like your making progress. This is just a wall. Esp since the only reward is a new color on your weapon.
It could take weeks for all I care but at least be interesting
well, yesterday i got lucky and got one in 2 hours, then in another 2 hours got nothing but crap loot from crap mobs.... they should at least make it a rare drop from 12 level 50 fate boss... it'd way cooler... actually that'd still be idiot, but at least i'd be able to use good skills
I actually had an idea to let our retainers do it.
Required level: 50 (any class)
Deployment Time: 48 hours
Venture Cost: 50-100 Ventures
Resting time: 24 hours (It took a lot out of them to find the atma. They need time to rest and recuperate before you can send them again.)
