I'm glad that the new quests added in patch 2.1 and 2.2 have some amount of substance.
The glom of fetch quests created for launch were not very good.
I did like that they fleshed out the lore of the individual regions, and the writing had its moments, but the overall 'content' of go kill this or click on that not so much.
It seems that most of the new quests being added in each patch have actual meaning. Unlocking dungeons, side stories, beastman tribes, new dance emotes, the challenge log. They have an actual purpose besides lore - kill stuff - lore - exp
If i imagine myself as a new player wandering around the world picking up quests, the experience is a whole lot more fun constantly running into quests that unlock something or have a real cutscene or SOMETHING. Like in FFXI getting the jungle airship pass for the first time. I'll never forget that.
