Just something to remember when your farming Atma

Just got my sch book and the main piece of personal advice I gave myself is to remember that the rng is the rng, which mean you may get one right after the other (like i was lucky enough to have happen last night) or you might not get one for 30 hours. If you go into this expecting to get them all in a timely manner your going to end up upset and frustrated. This doesn't mean you can't try to farm them just don't have unrealistic expectations.

if this is going to be a remember thing to the people farming the atma then remember there are people levelling there low level jobs so make sure to give them a chance to level

I think most people have a problem with it being FATEs. From those who I've talked to a majority wouldn't mind the RNG as much if it wasn't FATEs.

I not only hate FATEs, I hate that it's solely RNG. I much prefer a goal to work towards, rather than "farm this until your eyes bleed and maybe you'll eventually finish it". For example, if the quest was "complete every FATE in these zones with the highest possible rating", I wouldn't mind that, even though I think FATEs are the most boring thing ever. I want to know when something will be completed, even if it will take me months to do it, and be able to work toward that goal. Spending hours upon hours grinding FATEs with no drop and no end in sight is really depressing me.

The first bragging posts from people who got the Atma upgrade started coming in within 12 hours after the patch, so I don't think it's unrealistic to expect that I would be at least halfway finished 3-4 days later. I still don't have a drop at all.

Yeah, I agree. If it was just FATEs even a high number of them (like 50 per zone) I wouldn't mind it. Or if it was something else, but with the same RNG, I wouldn't mind it. But both..... Just no

Except your ignoring the fact that it's RNG so yes its unrealistic to expect it, the fact that people finished within the first 24 hours is not the norm

The irritating fact of the matter is that these people who finished it within 24 hours aren't necessarily good players. Getting the relic weapon and zenithing it was a walk in the proverbial park, so getting lucky with RNG still proves nothing. This is an irritating fact with almost every eastern mmo. The players that just grind and grind and grind and maybe get lucky faster than others that legitimately are talented players reap the rewards. Yet so many of them feel they have bragging rights or that their epeen is bigger than others simply because they got lucky. This weapon quest isn't impressive. There is no real challenge or tactic to it. You simply throw yourself at the mercy of the RNG gods and hope they have pity enough to rain their climax on you other than the 50 other monkeys jumping around the map.

Actually, I found this more true with almost every western MMORPG including WoW, even when you get stuff handed to you it still doesn't make someone a better player.

So let's just say it's true with mmorpgs in general.

Took me 13 weeks to get 1 piece of gear from Coil because of the RNG involved of maybe my piece will drop, maybe it won't...
I don't see this going any better....
MMORPG's with RNG HATE ME.
I quit Tera because of the broken RNG enchanting system.
I don't want to have to quit because of this....
