Piece by piece would like to have a word with you
I know, but its still crazy (^_^)
Steady Hand I, Piece by Piece x2, Ingenuity II, Careful Synthesis x3.
That's still 20 more Durability used (non-Waste Not) and 52 more CP required compared to Two Star recipes. It completely obliterates your Inner Quiet -> Byregot's Blessing rotations and that amount of CP isn't easy scrounge up with no new CP gear.

I'm a "builder of the realm" and I'm actually happy that it's difficult to craft HQ gear. It actually adds value to the gear you craft (even though crafted gear is not close to end game gear). Also, in order to have a good chance of HQ you would need to use HQ materials. Kind of makes sense to me

I'd agree with you about it being good it being difficult, if the gear was i100, but it's not. You can simply buy Myth gear for 1/5th the effort, and you can spend all that time and effort to craft a 3-star item, only to have it NQ, and be no better than i80.I'm a "builder of the realm" and I'm actually happy that it's difficult to craft HQ gear. For the insane difficulty of the crafts for 3-star items, and the huge expense in myth materials, they are nothing more than a novelty.
Except overmelded HQ is way better than myth, and while it's not easy to HQ them, it's not nearly as difficult as people make it out to be. People made these exact same arguments about Vanya and such back in 2.0, the only people who cared were the rich people and the progression raiders competing for world firsts where they need every bit of advantage as soon as possible.I'd agree with you about it being good it being difficult, if the gear was i100, but it's not. In 2.0, most crafted i70 gear only cost 1.5-3x more in P-tomes than Darklight gear, and is easy to HQ, even if at the bare pre-requisites for Control/Craft. The story is quite different here, and to suggest otherwise borders on white-knighting.Except overmelded HQ is way better than myth, and while it's not easy to HQ them, it's not nearly as difficult as people make it out to be. I hope you mean Steady Hand II. Also, (HQ) Bouillabaisse and Comfort Zone.I know, but its still crazy (^_^)

Piece by Piece has a 90% chance of success. You don't need Steady Hand II to raise it to 100%. Therefore, Steady Hand I.
I already use Comfort Zone and HQ Bouillabaise. My gear is stat capped with materia (it pretty much has to be to meet the requirement to craft three stars.) Most rotations rely on six stacks of Inner Quiet ending with a Byregot's Blessing. Three star recipes drop you down to four stacks of Inner Quiet (since you need to use Piece by Piece twice now.) Your Byregot's Blessing get's crushed as a result.
