Maybe it doesn't matter to you, you're welcome to leave the speculation of this thread to others in that case. That is the question I am posing. Is it possible that they DID get it from the publisher before an official announcement was available? The date suspiciously coincides with Yoshi-P's "Through the end of Summer (September)" date.

Exactly End of Summer in japan is Sept 30th so Oct 1 would make sense for Ps3 release with monthly fees starting in November. I can see this working out if they follow the timeline in place...Maybe it doesn't matter to you, you're welcome to leave the speculation of this thread to others in that case. July 21st 1.18
August 25th 1.19 - Ifrit, Crafting & DOL Redesign, Airships & Chocobos, Beastmen Encampment Additions
Sept 29th 1.20 - Job Redesign, Completed UI Enhancements, More Dungeons, Completion of all items on Summer release
Oct 1 PS3 release according to Amazon
Oct 27th or Nov 3rd 1.21 Ishgard Release, Possible Level Cap Increase, Addition of New Jobs, Storyline Missions, Start of Payment
These dates and items from patch notes past 1.19 obviously I don't know I am just guessing but common sense from Producer letters, Dev comments, and current schedule fits said timeline

Actually, Yoshida talked about the PS3 recently -- the rumored date was around august which was through a chinese site, and September/october is a general crucial month for Japanese games some years (a lot of company's financial periods end June - September) so it's not too far off, but it's not in Limbo anymore -- it's being looked at a second chance to get this game off the ground (YoshiP's words basically) so depending on the speed and depth of patches between now and then, the date may not be too far off base if they find it adequate by then.
Thank you Jennestia! /thumbsup. Just curious where did you get that? I'm look through all the JP search engines and keep on getting 0 hits on this. All I find is there is no date set now for PS3 version.Actually, Yoshida talked about the PS3 recently -- the rumored date was around august which was through a chinese site, and September/october is a general crucial month for Japanese games some years (a lot of company's financial periods end June - September) so it's not too far off, but it's not in Limbo anymore -- it's being looked at a second chance to get this game off the ground (YoshiP's words basically) so depending on the speed and depth of patches between now and then, the date may not be too far off base if they find it adequate by then.

The august date? It was posted on these forums not that long ago about a rumor at a chinese website, as talked about here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hinese+website, note I said rumor as that's all it was to begin with.
There is no set date, which is why I said it wouldn't be too far off base to assume october if the patches between now and then get the game to where they feel it's adequate to begin testing the PS3 version, since the only way to get this game currently is purchasing -- also given the timing of financial period start/ends it wouldn't be too surprising if it begins around then since this game is generating next to no income lol.
As for it being a second chance, it was in the connecton interview.
