atma drop rates

In the first two hours, I got two atma and I thought (hey this ain't so bad).

I'n now 172 hours into atma, and I STILL only have the two I got the first hour. This. Is. Stupid.

Atma has been such a cruel mistress to some, no reason to be be bitter to the others who it hasn't. Won't make Square change it

That's what I'm trying to get at. You could tackle 100+ FATEs and still end up with nothing. There's no sense of progress and it feel futile at times.

im getting to the point of breakdown on atma iv been farming them every day since there release and still only have 3 and hours? i lost count once i hit 1000 or so so id love something that would increase drop chance after doing say 10 fates per 1% increase ....well at least i have fc chat to use or my sub would be canceled

Don't really need another Atma weapon, but an FC member asked me to join him farming in Upper La Noscea for the Atma of the Water Bearer. As we ground, the guy we were partied with said he'd been working there for 7 hours already. As I shook my head, I just kept thinking "I could be playing Destiny!" But you have to support your members, so we plugged away. He asked, "can I get an Atma stone and not notice?" No, there's a distinctive sound and a big notification. "OK". He said, "One more fate!" so we trucked over and BAM, I got the atma. He responds, "I'm going into my hot tub now." Destiny awaits.

Talked to a JP friend of mine since FF11. I asked him if the JP community has a big issue with Atma farming. He told me that they used complain until they "know" how to farm for it. He told me to google ATMA timer. I looked into it, and it was pretty interesting... You spend 1-2 hrs a each zone if it doesn't drop it doesnt' drop, move to the next and come back in your cycle with corresponding times. I don't know if this works or not. I received all my Atma within 18hrs of farming, but I do have to say I move from one zone to another not knowing if it really did anything.
I keep hearing people saying they farmed 7hrs+ without one, but not sure if you are in the same zone.. but hope this helps! Happy grinding!

This has been debunked a while back, with the developers themselves even saying nothing influences the drop rate. It's straight up RNG.

I think this atma system should be improve in some way too, it's too much gliding for it. I don't suggest it to be nerf to 2-3 fates and get you atma piece but It should not be this hard to get. The developer plans to have the continuation on this relic quest and right now this will make it too much bothersome to do it.

well another thing they could do is make it that you have to kill 200 enemies in fate's per atma i mean the atma are the crystallized essence of the fallen
