I'm still waiting for the other 'karmic' shoe to drop, but farming and happy with the relatively consistent results. If my fear of having bad luck is belittling... ANYONE, then I apologize. I am merely sharing my results.

Karma may have just dropped on me a little, so far 1 hour in and 2 atma stones. total of 8 now. my only issue is the 500 fate mark to make it 1/4 of the way there then get the 2/4 after just 200. who knows. maybe its somewhere in the code to increase your chances after doing so many fates. but it does seem like the karmic balance is finally taking effect and i could not hope for a better time *knocks on wood, throws salt over shoulder, puts ladder away in garage, and changes the 13 in all documents to SUNSHINE!*

It's funny - before doing Atma I was looking at all my friends log on less and less wondering how they could be so burnt out. I did all my roulettes almost every day, I farmed a lot of content, I spent time making money and playing around with glamours, I just generally played this game a lot.
Now post Atma I hardly have logged on and I barely even go in to even tend my plants. Great for the health of this game to do this to people with this stupid quest.

This statement befuddles me. You don't have to touch atma anymore, and yet you blame your disinterest in playing on... atma? It's funny - before doing Atma I was looking at all my friends log on less and less wondering how they could be so burnt out. I did all my roulettes almost every day, I farmed a lot of content, I spent time making money and playing around with glamours, I just generally played this game a lot.

There's plenty other things to do, why focus so much disdain on such a small element of 2.2, particularly if you have surpassed it for your job?
And you are coming across as... what, an angel? I asked a simple question and you respond with an attack. Tell me, why do I remain patient with your continued attacks?Which is it:
1) You are ignorant of Novus weapons in 2.28
2) You are ignorant of how good this weapon will be for some classes in 2.28
3) You are ignorant of why people hate this quest
4) You are ignorant of completionists
Either way, instead of coming off like a d*** every post you make, let people just complain.
More hostility. Conveniently tied into a loaded question.
Can anyone be irritated with even benign posts? Yes. You have made that abundantly clear as both the recipient and the instigator. But that is neither here nor there.
I do believe that... No, I am certain that not only did I congratulate you on your 12, but I have on numerous occasions referred to "A reliable source having confirmed waiting 400 fates for only 1 atma". I have also provided plenty of advice on how people can make the situation less daunting.
Ignore, cherrypick, whatever you wish to do; The point is that I provide compelling data and even seriously consider and share data from those who remain hostile and abrasive with me day-in, day-out.
Hell, I have even offered ideas on how to boost atma without making it a pure handout, something you seem to want, but seem to have no interest in sharing realistic ideas toward. Tell me, If someone is offering ideas to alter game content in a way that benefits those complaining about said content, is that person still a... white knight? Your logic is truly dizzying.
Oh, I'm sorry, did you expect me to respond to every post from which you insulted me, or were you trying to make a different point?
And I do believe that I was quoting your use of the term "cherry picking. Oh, the irony.
Mhm. Oookay, I believe you.
you know what, I'm not taking your baiting to fight. If you want to further discredit me, when I have been patient with your attacks, even generous enough to credit you for your statistics- whatever. That is your perogative. Do what you gotta do.

Cherry picks things to reply to and even admits to cherry picking numbers
Accuses others of cherry picking
Oh, insult you? I'm just making innocent observations and asking simple questions.![]()

Currently I sit at 31/36 atmas. I didn't even mean to start a third atma line, it just kinda happened while I was waiting for a friend to stop being afk for T1. Joined a random FATE and thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if atma dropped on the fir-"
And so it dropped on the first FATE I decide to do. After that, I felt like I had to finish a third set. Approximately 1,300 FATEs later, I'm sitting with 7 atma on a third line in my inventory. And I'm glad to say I've given up on it. Already have my tank and DPS weapons, so it's no big deal for me.
If there were any ideas on how to improve atmas, I would have to suggest they actually be the books and not a random drop from FATEs. People are already complaining how long it takes for some of these book FATEs to appear (I never seem to have that problem), so why couldn't that be a nice solution to an existing problem since people don't want the relic upgrade quest to be RNG-heavy? Hell, even make the books cost 2k myth, if that's what it takes to balance the scales on "skill."
Only got my Zenith weapon yesterday and was dreading farming fates for Atma's after hearing all of the horror stories. But I got my first Atma from Bentbranch after about 30-45 minutes. Which was less time than I was expecting. I'm not on Southern Thanalan. No luck as yet, but I always enjoy doing that dancing zombie fate![]()
The real test is the Atma of Crab
I agree with Kensatsu 100%.... Sh** ridiculous man sittin here all day fishin for nothing lol id rather join a DF and wipe Titan 52 times!!XD, i agree to say it's just a bad game design,
and like goonie say he got the 12 atma in 12 hours, but that's it, lucky one will get it fast and unlucky one will not have it before 60 hours of fate.
This is why goonie can't understand complain when some players have 12 hours of fate and 0 atma.
The leviathan one will not be more accurate you need a rare drop to get to ilevel100 but it still a option, maybe more intersting.
also people complain about the fact it's involving low level fate, i agree too it's meaningless.
Base high level weapon on luck is not a great idea,
Yoshida is often speaking of balance of the game, well the luck is not totaly unbalanced between player ?

Just curious to know how and it what method many of you farm for your atma's.
Do you actually stay and do fates in just one area at a time to get an atma before moving on to the next one?
or
Do you just do a few, take a break, go back to the same area or do a different area?
TBH when I first got to the stage of doing my atma's I was dreading it (especially since I hate fates anyway), and when I first tried it I stayed in one area for 4 days (in total) trying for my first atma with no luck.....
At that point I said FK this and took few days break and did other stuff like crafting.... then I said to myself, there must be a better way to get through this atma nightmare....
I then tried just hammering away at fates for no more than 30 mins at a time in any one area and then move on to the next area in hope that not only would it be a change of scenery but improve my luck.
It did.................
