Sums up my feelings pretty wellI don't want instant gratification.
I want to feel like I have something to show for 194409605 hours of atma grinding. A progress bar? That's fine. Capped soldiery? Great! I know what I need to do to get my armor, and it won't be instant.
RNG for a weapon that is literally for show (at first)? And the show-weapon is needed to power it up further? Not fine.

This is a Final fantasy game. Final fantasy has always had an element of the unobtainable. Did they start handing out relic weapons in 11 when people started whining? Or let you type in a cheat code to one shot the emerald weapon in 7? I only have 3 atma's after 4 days grinding and I still think this game needs more unreachable items.

I don't think anyone is asking for an easy obtain on these weapons. It makes sense to have to work for the good studff. What is getting to people is that there is no standard amount of work to get these weapons. There are those people that get 12/12 in 12 hours and then there are people that MIGHT get 1/12 in 12 hours of grinding. The grind is not the problem. A set goal or an atma meter showing how close you are to getting a piece would go a long way. I've lost track of the number of times I've been in a FATE party for an hour+, only to have someone join the party and get their atma within 5 minutes and then leave. And I'll still be grinding away. I'm prepared for the grind, but to see someone put in less work than I and get their reward is just a slap in the face.
That's exactly what people want. People are willing to do other means of getting the Atmas if means they can actually make progression towards it and doing it at their own pace rather than having RNG/time be imposed upon. I suggested before that I'd be willing to suffer doing the extreme primal fights if it meant getting my atmas that way because I know I can learn from the fights and master them.
But apparently we are the "gimmie" generation that wants everything instantly just because we can't stand having to wait many hours in a day to get a drop.
Have it be a set number of fates (even if its a huge amount, like 200 each) or add 'boss' fates for each zone similar to Odin and KB that drop the atmas.
Heck, even if its just PARTIAL mitigation of the problem, like have the drop rate go up with every fate completed that it didn't drop in, or letting us use alternate classes that aren't 50 so that we can at least get EXP for other jobs out of this.
This is literally a part of your character. Advancing your relic/zodiac weapon is pretty much the replacement for leveling up, and its going to keep building up on this base as the game grows. This is content you are required to complete to unlock weapon customization (once its released). This is like if they made it so when you killed a monster, there was only a 10% chance it would actually give you exp.
I've been saying this since before I got my Atma weapon, this would be a nice alternative, though I wouldn't want it to be too large of an increase (say it's 1% chance, at max increase have it be like 3% or something)
That said, the drops are being blown out of proportion a little bit I think, a few took up to 45 hours for me to get, but the vast majority were obtained in 1-2 hours with a little higher times here and there (a couple 10 hours, 22 hours, etc). I understand the frustration in it (see working 45 hours before I got my very first one), but all in all, it's not THAT bad, you're getting seals, which is nice, points for your FC, which is nice, too. Personally, the amount of relief and happiness I got when that 12th atma FINALLY dropped was amazing, I've had this dumb grin on my face every time I log in and see it.

I don't see how 45 hours is "not bad"
Oh sure, you get gil and seals, but by the time you're going for the atma weapons, you probably have more gil and seals than you know what to do with. Has there been bots for this event yet? I'd be surprised if there wasn't.
I think you just came to the forums to grief and cut down others for being frustrated. It's not constructive and quite toxic behavior. Don't need to cut others down for voicing their opinions. We are trying to get the dev's to understand our frustration. your quote on the bottom sums it all up. "Atmas are too hard? I guess no one here has farmed cards on Ragnarok Online =O" That is put there for the sole purpose of griefing others to make fun of our frustration. Please do not add the the already frustrated player base.Rather than choose one piece of what I said that serves your point, how about trying to look at what I said after that too? "the vast majority were gotten in 1-2 hours, all in all it's not THAT bad". Do not pick and choose my words, it makes you look ignorant, and only serves to hurt your agenda

So much complain about grind.
I recall grinding Lightning's ultimate weapon to level 100 in FF13 and mastering Knights of the Round for 500k AP and various other summons to make the Master Summon Materia in FF7 wayyyy more grindy than this.
