I don't think anyone is asking for an easy obtain on these weapons. It makes sense to have to work for the good studff. What is getting to people is that there is no standard amount of work to get these weapons. There are those people that get 12/12 in 12 hours and then there are people that MIGHT get 1/12 in 12 hours of grinding. The grind is not the problem. A set goal or an atma meter showing how close you are to getting a piece would go a long way. I've lost track of the number of times I've been in a FATE party for an hour+, only to have someone join the party and get their atma within 5 minutes and then leave. And I'll still be grinding away. I'm prepared for the grind, but to see someone put in less work than I and get their reward is just a slap in the face.

That's exactly what people want. People are willing to do other means of getting the Atmas if means they can actually make progression towards it and doing it at their own pace rather than having RNG/time be imposed upon. I suggested before that I'd be willing to suffer doing the extreme primal fights if it meant getting my atmas that way because I know I can learn from the fights and master them.

But apparently we are the "gimmie" generation that wants everything instantly just because we can't stand having to wait many hours in a day to get a drop.

Have it be a set number of fates (even if its a huge amount, like 200 each) or add 'boss' fates for each zone similar to Odin and KB that drop the atmas.

Heck, even if its just PARTIAL mitigation of the problem, like have the drop rate go up with every fate completed that it didn't drop in, or letting us use alternate classes that aren't 50 so that we can at least get EXP for other jobs out of this.

This is literally a part of your character. Advancing your relic/zodiac weapon is pretty much the replacement for leveling up, and its going to keep building up on this base as the game grows. This is content you are required to complete to unlock weapon customization (once its released). This is like if they made it so when you killed a monster, there was only a 10% chance it would actually give you exp.

Many hours a day to POSSIBLY get a drop.

I've been saying this since before I got my Atma weapon, this would be a nice alternative, though I wouldn't want it to be too large of an increase (say it's 1% chance, at max increase have it be like 3% or something)

That said, the drops are being blown out of proportion a little bit I think, a few took up to 45 hours for me to get, but the vast majority were obtained in 1-2 hours with a little higher times here and there (a couple 10 hours, 22 hours, etc). I understand the frustration in it (see working 45 hours before I got my very first one), but all in all, it's not THAT bad, you're getting seals, which is nice, points for your FC, which is nice, too. Personally, the amount of relief and happiness I got when that 12th atma FINALLY dropped was amazing, I've had this dumb grin on my face every time I log in and see it.

I don't see how 45 hours is "not bad"

Oh sure, you get gil and seals, but by the time you're going for the atma weapons, you probably have more gil and seals than you know what to do with. Has there been bots for this event yet? I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

    So much complain about grind.

I recall grinding Lightning's ultimate weapon to level 100 in FF13 and mastering Knights of the Round for 500k AP and various other summons to make the Master Summon Materia in FF7 wayyyy more grindy than this.

I still say that grabbing up 12 atma was nowhere near as bad as getting cards on Ragnarok Online, with a 0.01% drop chance(less if you wanted the boss cards), and over upgrading all your gear to +10 to use said cards in

Nothing about this "quest line" is hard or difficult...

What is not acceptable is the fact that there is no tangible goal for us to look at or progress towards. There's literally no psychological intrinsic motivation for me to run around somewhere like Lower Noscea for 60 hours with just hope. We're not even allowed to level other classes during this endless grind. I have no issue with grinding, I have issue with grinding and having nothing to show for it. There's nothing to tell my brain, "that 10 hours you put in had some effect" when the reality is you just wasted 10 hours of your life that could have been spent doing anything else-- for nothing.

With pure RNG, you could essentially just do it forever and not get one as that .01% or whatever chance it is just resets each time you enter the next fate.

I don't know how those of you farming fates for 60+ hours are cool with it, are you having fun or just that masochistic? Atma grinding seems pointless. The real grind for the Animus has goals, making it acceptable. Grinding for something you may not ever get (12 different atmas) to THEN begin the real grind is bad game design. Give us a progress bar, anything tangible that gives the brain something to be motivated by. Rolling a 1000 sided dice hoping it lands on the #1 every time is no way to play
