Dude, are you kidding?
This is not an erotic MMORPG.

Selective reading a winner does not make.sex appeal in NA world doesnt mean porn, it means saying the game needs sex appeal isnt saying it needs porn charachters, it means that he probably is tired of seeing most mages in clothes that look really bland, and dont even have a female shape, or clothes that people can barely tell your charachter is female.
putting the words sexy coat into google i get this img

its definitely feminine, and interesting but it has nothing to do with porn, in fact it covers most of her sexy parts. dont misiniterpert sexiness and intercourse, its not the same thing

ok lets put it like this the phrase "sex appeal" has multiple interpretations, but even with your definitions, i dont think adding sex appeal to a game would be like making it pornographic, qualities that attract people arent just like nakedness, as your very definition implies, naming adornmanets, smell, clothing etc as things to enhance sex appeal. The game needs a wider variety of clothes, and imo more "Sexy" clothes
I agree, this game needs appeal. Costumes need to look better, players need to look more original, and player characters need more action... moves that move the character around instead in one spot.
Why don't we just scrap the word sex appeal and rephrase it as, "appeal", since most people can't get past the word sex and assume anyone else who post unrelated or un productive comments, someone who obviously didn't read past the first word sex.
The google image post was very appropriate and right to the point. It's just something that looks good. Odd fashionable and you could wear it down the street. The only people turning heads are people saying " that's a nice jacket " . Nothing like, put your clothes on, or , this is a t rated street take your sexy jacket home.
Look at that google image jacket. Now look at the mages single plain brown one piece robe. Now which one do you think your friends would compliment.
Also, the only reason I play ff is for the story and characters. So anyone who's saying we should not put that in ff14 is loose a bolt or two.
Here, here. The OP should edit the post title so that less people can assume something completely different than something that, in all rights and respects, is needed. Final Fantasy is known for its unique character designs, and XIV takes it with a grain of dirt. Why don't we just scrap the word sex appeal and rephrase it as, "appeal", since most people can't get past the word sex and assume anyone else who post unrelated or un productive comments, someone who obviously didn't read past the first word sex.

Now the world will be flooded by female characters (being played by males) running around in bikinis.
I've only read the first page of this thread, but seriously: I respected FFXIV for not having any 'sex appeal'. It doesn't need it, at all. It needs cool armor (which it sort of has, but it lacks the awesome factor of AF armor of FFXI), not the standard miniskirts and breastplates and metal thongs you see in mostly all Korean MMORPGs.
It reminds me of an image (which I won't link to) which had the byline "armour class - the less it covers the higher the armour rating". I actually like FFXIV's armour, it could do with more variety but the way it stands currently the armour models fit the intended purposes. Mages look like mages with pointy hats and long flowing robes giving the appearance of sage ineffability. DoL gear looks like the sort of gear you would actually wear when out chopping a tree in olden times.
I can't quite imagine someone going fishing in that dress, be pretty hard to find waders that would suit it.
Heavy armour should be just that, heavy - a recent study shows just how heavy it was, as heavy as a modern soldiers backpack except all the weight being carried by the legs, it was also very restrictive on the breathing, you start taking bits away here and there to make it look "appealing" and the next thing you know some fella has cut your leg and your head gets chopped off.
Armour should be made to distinguish your class, I see a fella in a pointy hat and a robe carrying a wizards staff (which has a knob on the end - 5 points for the reference!) and I know their a mage class. I see that same person in hot pants and a flower in their hair I'm going to start wondering when SE introduced the hippy class to the game and I'll be trying to buy some class C's off them.
I agree with the OP, though ff13 still has alot more sex appeal then ff11 had. ff11 women were flater then some of my friends and theyre guys.
Every other eastern mmo beats ff14 in this department (japanese chinese korean ect.)
but there is some inuendo in ulduh.
edit: wow page 10 sorry for not reading the other 9 pages i figured it'd mostly be haters.
