Sex appeal ?

I understand Sex sell but right now the only race that really show more at the cats it was the same in FFXI it's the same in FFXIV. Now i don't want all the female race to look like there working at a strip joints.

You can make the female look hot without making them look like hoes and this is coming from a guy.

When seeing a male in full Tank gear and then seeing a female what do you see? the girls are half nude but they still as good as the male tanking gear really? your half nude how are you going to get hit less? I know this is a game and all but we still need some realism.

I'd at least want the NPC's to acknowledge the clothing on other NPC's lorewise. There are already instances of it here and there in dialogue - but I'd like more of it.

Yeah with tanking I can see them keeping it full plate. For maging though or lets say dd's, girls can show a little more skin nothing too slutty. Maybe its not even how the gear looks sex appeal wise, its just the gear is underwhelming as MattyWS said. Think how the "evil armor" shows the midriff area, more stuff like that. And then a little more flashy gear in the line of FFXI's homam set.

It should be 8 and above not even 12.

You seem to classify violence as inherently more acceptable than sex. Fine, whatever, that's between you and your mental health professional. Just remember to check game ratings to seek out "bloody viscera" and avoiding "kissing."

However...

1. Your personal preferences are your own and nobody else's. What you consider "good, wholesome family fun" isn't the same as everyone else's. Catering to different peoples' tastes and values is where these rating systems come from. And speaking of ratings...
2. The game's rating includes sexual content! Everywhere where it's legitimately sold, it says so right on the box! The gaming industry has been working long and hard at creating and implementing these systems so that everyone has the ability to make an informed decision. If you bought a game rated T or 12 or whatever and then are shocked and appalled by how high the hemlines are, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

This attitude that a game is intended for "all ages" in spite of all evidence showing otherwise is where these sensationalist "games are corrupting our children!" headlines comes from.

Short version: this is why we can't have nice things.

I don't mind skin but not the way guys would want it.
FF doesnt need sluts running around the server.
They need fun peoplke that love to play the game.
Games are for fun not for dating and such.

Do you butcher and skin foes in FF ? No. You get items.
Lotr online did have butchering and skinning and that kind of stuff.
But still its killing things that don't exist.
A shooter most of the times is killing people in cold blood.
I play shooters and some of em are just not made for kids under 14 though the box says 10+.
So yes i don't see why FF should be made 18+.
It would ruin the concept of Final Fantasy.
Along other RPG's Final Fantasy/squaresoft always kept their games clean.
Offcourse it had some nice looking girls in em and a kissing seen.
That i don't mind at all :-)
But wanting em to have sex and all that and walk around in strings and stuff no fing way.
Then lots of people would stop playing FF games. Cause Square-Enix keeps the level of respect high.
Having half naked slut looking chars on FF would take the selfrespect and the respect of Final Fantasy Down.

If anything I like how Paladin gear looked on girls. :3 Almost fully armored, but had shorts on instead of being full pants for men. Though I didn't like how it looked Mithras, it was just Underwear and legs were more revealed.

I have to agree showing less but still somewhat showing is very sexy. Like the dark knight Gear that we getting for FFXIV it show a little but still revealing. There no need to have our females in the game half nude in battle this is not porn but you still need some type of sex appeal i guess.

I don't think people would care if the gear was more revealing or not if the gear was actually somewhat appealing looking. I love the realism, I'm just underwhelmed with mage gear I guess :/

If someone is arguing that it should, it isn't me. I find the content is appropriate to both its rating and my personal tastes. You're the one trying to argue that the game should instead be rated for a lower age (and then kept at those standards).

"Sex appeal" doesn't mean "full frontal nudity." Other names for it include "cheesecake" and "fanservice." Having the occasional, optional striperiffic outfit doesn't equal opening a red light district in Limsa Lominsa to lure in sailors. It looks like you're having a kneejerk reaction over the word "sex."
