Nobody asked for FATE grinding, so I'm not sure how you equated a non requested feature with FFXI-2 or "this isn't XI-2" since if it was XI-2 we'd be able to not only guarantee our Atma drops, but we'd be able to actually have a reason for all of this "pain" since XI weapons weren't purely stat items, they had special attributes to them as well, including new weaponskills.
What is the difference? Grinding is grinding; RNG is RNG.
