Wait. So losing the interest of people for the sake of grinding seems reasonable to you? So if Square keeps up the random drops and loses a chunk of their player base because of it and have to go free to play, you'd be okay with that? Long term goals are fine and all but you can have a long term goal without random rewards for doing the same thing over and over again on a percentage drop. Such as give atma to players by base of an unlocked achievement in game. Nothing so insane as having to level 50 all jobs, but something to the effect of having killed a certain number of monsters, obtained an amount of gil or spirit bonded a number of materia.
