So for all those that think collecting atma pieces are the pain....I would collect 100 as opposed to what comes next-

So I collected all 12 in 12 hours with some being far more timely than others, and yes I realize that RNG was on my side. Some people that are throwing out some absurd times and fabricating to make it sound worse then it is, please stop. For the others I'm sorry you're getting the stick with RNG. Also how effectively you choose to do fates is up to you...if you sit and wait in one area for 3 to spawn repeatedly of course its going to take 5 hours. If you aren't getting gold, you aren't getting an atma. I and the other person that did it congruently both took 12-14 hours but we hustled ass to every fate possible.

As for the after part - First book is complete for +2 vit = 18 hours

Cost of book = 1500 myth tomes (9 books total for full upgrade = 13,500)
each book requires 10x10 kills = so 100 kills total of various mobs
3 fates, 3 levels, and 3 dungeons.

The book itself is not horrible but even getting 4 people and speed running first two bosses of bray hard at 10 mins per = 50 every 10 mins, 300 per hour, 5 hours for 1500 myths.

5 hours x 9 books = 45 hours minus doing the actual books. So yea its a long tedious road.

I spent two hours the other night and four hours tonight doing exactly what you did... hauling ass from FATE to FATE, getting gold on every single one. I got one atma just after starting today, so right after my cumulative 2-hour mark... but then nothing for the other four hours.

Conversely, there was a guy in my party saying he'd had none in 12 hours, and another guy saying he'd found 10 in 8.5 hours.

So it really appears to just be completely random. I actually can't wait for the second stage... even though it's a long grind, it will be nice not having to guess how much longer I'll be at it.

I grinded for 13 hours, i did more then 200 fates. I have only 3 atmas. A friend of mine got 8 atmas in 4 hours.
So, if you don't know what the players are saying, avoid to give us your "teaches"

I don't even want to calculate how many hours or FATEs I've done, and I have ZERO drops. This isn't difficult, it's plain depressing.

I'm looking forward to the next section, where at least you know you can make progress on it within a given time frame, instead of throwing away tons of time to get nothing, which is what I've been doing so far.

cmon, you're really complaining about myth farming ? 45 hours is about 2 weeks to a month for many people, 2 month for very casual players.

SE announced it to be long. No real need to rush it in any way. As far as I understand it too, the animus will have iL100 stats PLUS a bonus according to which books you used to level it up. Not sure if there are caps, but that seems awesome enough for me to wait patiently before getting it.

I am fairly certain no one thinks atma collecting is hard. Just tedious and boring, which is fine by itself, but also based solely upon luck. We're all rolling rigged dice, you just were fortunate enough to have good rolls.

What you said about the second part sounds fantastic. Something to really sink my teeth into, every bit of Mythos gained doing game content contributing towards the goal. Few people have gripes over the amount of time put into the FATEs, the issue lies in the time being an entirely frivolous factor, as there is absolutely no skill involved. You rush over to a FATE, spam Flash a bit, get gold, don't get the atma, then rinse and repeat until it drops. Zero thought, zero skill, zero fun.

This FATE travesty is a binary. You either have the atma, ergo you progress to the next one, or you do not. Players are asking for a spectrum instead.

You seem to completely misunderstand why people dislike the Atma stage. It's because you have no idea when you will progress. It might take 1 more FATE, or 1,000 more FATES. Who knows!? The FATEs themselves are just mindlessly mashing your first 1-4 skills, depending on the area. It's a mind numbing time sink (as opposed to, for example, lock out time sinks we see in other content, or quantity time sinks they could have implemented -- like 20 FATEs in a region = an atma). I haven't heard from anyone complaining about the book stage. Most people know about it from datamining and what not already. It lists definitive requirements for the upgrade. That's what people want. They could be long and tedious as Hell. That they're definitive makes all the difference.
