For people who are able to do content, are Relics worth it?

The only Zenith Relic I got was for my Scholar, hearing that it could be upgraded in 2.2, I got my DRG and PLD Relics as well.

I always thought Relics should be top stats because the amount of effort and time (10-15 hrs for an upgrade? I rather do extremes!), yet it seems that the top weapons will always come from Coil instead.

I rather do extremes for weapons as placeholders till I get my Coil weapon, where does Relic stand for those who can do content?

Many of the extreme levi weapons are pretty bad for second coil, they lack accuracy which you really, really need and are on par with Allagan weapons until you upgrade them which I'm still not sure how to do (it requires an item I havent seen yet). The shield is a pretty good straight upgrade for pally though.

That said the atma weapon is when you first get it worse than allagan, and takes a ton of grinding to get it to being an upgrade. If you are on serious progression it's just not worth the time investment, you're better off doing other stuff its clearly not meant for coil gear progression.

Relics are upgradeable, so you might want to invest some time into one. Getting the weapon to its zenith level will prove to be the easiest while the new quests added with 2.2 might prove to be more time-consuming. It's ultimately up to you to decide what you wanna obtain though ^^

can always get a crafted I90 loaded up on ACC, With the materia melds. Wish they would adjust the melds to the actual lv of the weapon once start melding them. Since the one or 2 pts you lose , with the right 5 melded on the gear almost as good as a lv 100, When set up right. Just the defense only thing you lose.

Relic worth it, but can get other pieces faster that will work just as good , and you also got to realize there still working on making the relics grow and will be long and hard . so not everyone get it in one day. A john,tom,sally, or jane should not get they item in one day.
