    FFXIV disavowed at PAX

At the SE booth I saw Deus Ex, Wakfu, and FFXIII-2 (which looked pretty decent). I was hoping to see something on XIV to give people an easy way to see all the changes that have been made, but there was nothing there. Kinda sad. I've said before this game is gonna need a media/advertising push from SE if it's gonna recover. It doesn't look like they're interested.

I think once they have all the core changes made they will move in that direction

There's no point to even bring up FFXIV until it's ready for ps3. Honestly at this point FFXIV is an embarassment for SE and maybe the longer people who don't play this game go with forgetting it even existed, the better the chances of re-hyping said gamers will be?

They said they wont be doing any Convention visits for XIV until they are ready. Because its too exhausting for the staff like Yoshi-P to be traveling to present. I do agree they should have atleast set up a quick video with some of the outlined current and future changes with simple text explanations and stuff.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I've even heard that FFXIV won't be at TGS either. I think it's because they want to make sure things have changed a lot before they start showing it off. From our point of view, the game has changed a lot so far, but to the world of people who haven't been keeping up, they might not realize the differences. I think SE wants to wait at least until Jobs are pushed out to start showing FFXIV off, but that's just my own prediction on the matter.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

To demonstrate what? Shiny new level up graphics and auto attack? "Whoah look at the size of those Marmots!"

Yoshi said he wasn't attending game conferences because it would send the wrong message when they are in the midst of a crisis/serious revamp of the game.

I'm pretty happy about that decision personally. I don't know if you have ever attended a convention/exhibition of any kind in a professional sense but they are huge drains on manpower/time/money which right now should be 100% focused on improving XIV. This game does not need marketing right now.

It's quite normal. The game needs a lot more work before they can show it off. The basics are not even finished yet and the content is very much lacking. Once they got all that nailed down, you will hear and see a lot more about FFXIV. They keep it all for the PS3 lunch as it will be for them a kind of relunch/2nd lunch for the game and with all the changes in they will then be able to show it off and brag about it.

Right now they would only be saying "well.... it's a crappy game.. it's empty, nothing to do and broken but we are working on it and one of these days it will be great!" ... pple dont want to hear that.. it's bad business...

You'll probably see a start on advertising early next year..
Any time before that the game will still be a long way from ready for a relaunch.

While they have pushed hard on the core system changes (for better and worse) the content hole of the game is still massive, and while 1.19 will help with that I don't think until were into the late 1.2x patches that they can start to think about Ps3 and showing the game off.
